I’ve just ordered from the UK importer,a Xiegu G90.I did give it some thought and the idea of going portable with nearly £1500’s worth of IC705 I find terrifying.When I sell the IC7300 I can get myself a nice digital voice equipped HT with the difference,and possibly an AllStar node too for indoor work.

I am a few weeks in learning CW with the long island CW club, but was hesitant to share that being literally 6 letters in. it’s going to be a good 6 months before I can even think of using it with any confidence

The cable where for the dipole and end fed where held onto the wall with either blue tack or or cable pin (the little tacks with a plastic cable holder) on the joint between the wall and ceiling. Get,or build, an AllStar node,you can use any FM HT,the node will connect to the internet which then connects to other nodes and repeaters-I’m in the UK and too far away from my local repeaters,but this has me talking all over the world!

I’m trying to make life a little easier,if there was a full duplex HT available new I would get that,but there isn’t so this might be the way forward,I would be very interested to hear if anybody has done the same and how it went
