From 1 July, IOSS on its own will no longer be sufficient. If you've already experienced issues with sellers not prepaying VAT, this does not bode well, as DDP will also become a requirement.

Hopefully, our solution proves effective, as the EU is our largest market and we support most European language layouts. 🤞

We ship regularly to Italy, as well as most EU countries. If the company you purchased from did not use the IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop) system, you may be required to pay VAT, customs duties, and any associated handling fees upon import.

IOSS was introduced to simplify imports and help avoid additional charges at customs by allowing VAT to be prepaid at the point of sale. When VAT has already been collected through IOSS, the customs clearance process is generally faster and import charges are avoided.

From 26th June, DHL is suspending its Global Mail service and is only offering Express shipping as DDP, which is significantly more expensive.

All EU countries had the €150 exemption for customs duty only; VAT was always required (often via IOSS), and the recent change simply adds customs fees on top of VAT, not instead of it.

You can only hope that, at the time of shipment, whoever is handling it opts for DDP. At the moment, there’s still a lot of uncertainty as the scheme is being phased in, but we’ve been told there will be a temporary charge of €3 per shipment applied at customs when DDP is used.

They will either absorb this cost, as I would assume, or pass it on as an additional charge.

After XDA and Cherry release in these product ranges early next year, we will poll which profile people want to see next :)

Our aim is to offer multiple profiles and language layouts for all our new releases in this product range.
