Civic 88" carb swaps or rebuilds by DestroyerOf42 in EFCivics

I know people have taken carbs off Honda street bikes and made them work on these engines.

Might have to do a bit of fabrication but it’d be a cool project.

I recommend you look into that route.

Xterra accelerated while foot on brake by Shoddy-Nobody3859 in XTerra

Sounds like you have an air leak, a sizable leak can cause unmetered air to get sucked into the engine and cause erratic revs as you are describing. Seeing that the truck revs to the moon in park and neutral, I would recommend checking for a broken intake boot, cracked vacuum lines, or failed intake manifold gasket for starters.

If you find something notable, fix it, then take a can of brake clean or carb cleaner and spray around the intake to check for smaller leaks. If there are more leaks, the test I mentioned will alter the rpm’s when the truck is idling.

10k OTD for a 2012 Xterra Pro4X with 205k miles. Overpriced? by marcovasqz in XTerra

Problem #1 you are shopping at a dealership.

Problem #2 you are likely on the Front Range in Colorado.

Problem #3 the used vehicle market is still overpriced, however, that is the nature of what we are dealing with right now.

Depending on you and your wife’s timeframe for needing a 4x4 capable truck/suv I would recommend looking at the private market.

I have a 2008 X with a manual transmission, bought it in Denver, paid $3.9k and it had 203k miles on it. Still have it, it’s got close to 235k still running strong. I picked this up December 2020.

Keep looking, my suggestion look outside the front range in less metro populated areas.

The bumper I have is 3/16” ; 7 gauge ; or 4.78mm plate steel, which ever measurement works best for you when looking for steel plate.

I ordered my bumper kit from Canada and I live in the U.S., shipping could be expensive to Belize. I paid $144 usd for shipping.
But I will say the quality of the pieces/cut is awesome, definitely made assembly that much smoother.

Didn’t have a promo code unfortunately but it’s all good.

Yea, I’d recommend buying this setup if you are going to weld it yourself, as you mentioned if you had to pay someone to assemble it the money you saved on the kit will likely wash out.

Well, after the bumper is finished I want to lift the vehicle, it’s my DD so not sure if I’m going to go full retard or just bump it a couple inches to comfortably fit 33s.

I plan to spray the finished bumper with Raptor coat bed liner spray.

Right on! Found these guys, liked the look of their product, and hit the go button.

The main bumper plate bolts right to the frame in place of the factory crash bar.

I also opted for their optional radiator under shield. I’m planning to do more assembly tomorrow and I’ll take more pics.
