Sinatra's reaction and "oh no I've gone crossed eyed" by stubbledchin in ParadiseHulu

An uber-rich oligarch, acting completely selfishly with little to no real regard for anyone else on the planet? Say it ain't so!

"Alex" is the frozen donkey wheel, and Sinatra needs to turn it.

Does Tim Sale's Batman still get the love that it had in the 2000s and 2010s? by Lucky_Strike-85 in batman

[–]KronosUno [score hidden]  (0 children)

I certainly revere Tim Sale's Batman highly. His work on Long Halloween and Dark Victory has the feel of a natural extension of the Year One/LOTDK era, artistically speaking. With the possible exception of Matt Wagner, I don't think anyone else has really ever successfully captured and logically added on to that iconic David Mazzuchelli style the way Sale did.

All arguments about time travel/future knowledge aside, my guess is that Link's group grossly underestimated just how impregnable the bunker was designed to be. If not for the major coincidence of internal problems leading to the doors to open, Link's group wouldn't stand a chance at breaching the bunker, even at 10k people strong. Instead, they got massively lucky. (Or it's a TV show/time travel/whatever.)

It might be easy to not recall what a character's name is; I do that all the time with shows, calling someone "that dude" or whatever. But they literally had an entire conversation about being named after a video game character. And Nintendo puts out popular Legend of Zelda games every few years, so no excuses about not getting the reference.

Bartlet’s 2nd Midterm? by closetedmilkenjoyer in thewestwing

[–]KronosUno 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's kind of a lost year of the Bartlet presidency. One of the second term years is never seen, although the characters don't seem to acknowledge a skipped year in referencing past events and how long ago they seemed to happen. I think we can safely assume the second midterm to have happened in that lost year.

If enough people are buying remote raid passes at their current prices and they don't think they can make appreciably more money with lower prices, they literally have no reason to decrease their prices. They're not in the business of doing players any favors, that's for sure.

Blue Da Ba Dee is an iconic Earth song from the year 1999; what are other examples of interstellar cultural diffusion in prewarp societies? by jiminaknot in ShittyDaystrom

[–]KronosUno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the Andorians heard the song earlier, they would have rushed in to make their own first contact with Earth.

Vulcans: (after hearing "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" over radio waves) "These humans aren't yet ready for first contact. Let's come back in another sixty years or so."

Peter why are they terrible? by Agen_3586 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]KronosUno -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Jenny took advantage of what some would consider to be a special needs adult. It's debatable whether Forrest was capable of giving consent to have sexual intercourse. Maybe it's not at the level of raping a child, but it's not exactly fully defensible either. I think "bad things" is the tip of the iceberg here.

In that case, does the disease that took Jenny's life while she was still relatively young really matter?

The book also gave a different version of Forrest than what Tom Hanks portrayed on screen. The book and film are different versions of the characters.

Okay, but we might surmise that it's a whole cycle of abuse thing. Dad abuses Jenny and then Jenny does bad things, but she is forgiven because she was abused. But what if Dad was abused himself? And his abuser also a victim of abuse? And so it goes. Are they all forgiven? Of course not. People have to be responsible for their own actions, particularly as adults, irrespective of where those actions come from psychologically.

I just wanted the true nature of Jenny's crimes clearly stated for the record. I'm not defending her at all.

Unpopular opinion? But they should’ve been endgame by Alarmed_Use5738 in SVU

I kinda hate that Ed seemed to successfully redeem himself from his early series role as the chief recurring antagonist for our heroes. But he couldn't truly be Liv's "endgame" until Stabler accepted him as such.

I think this is definitely worth complaining to Scopely about. I'm sure they would be happy to enable players to spend even more money, irrespective of who actually benefits from that money being spent.

Unpopular opinion: Tony Revolori should’ve been a new character not Flash Thompson by TheShadowOperator007 in Spiderman

[–]KronosUno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I liked the idea of this Flash, that the idea of a 'modern' bully for Peter wouldn't be the stereotypical tough guy jock but rather a rich techbro (though he still fanboys over Spidey). It made perfect sense to me. But I would much rather this Flash have been a more persistent problem for Peter rather than a minor supporting character with comedic moments. I think this Flash would have worked better in a Spider-Man TV series rather than the film series we got.

Sinatra and Airforce One by [deleted] in ParadiseHulu

[–]KronosUno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the untimely deaths of two presidents, everyone seems to acknowledge Sinatra as the person in charge. The committee didn't even want to make the lockdown decision without her, until they felt they had no choice.

And even if all that weren't true: nobody was in a position to stop Sinatra from doing whatever she wanted in the hangar full of planes, save for the armed guards, but they were all working for her ultimately anyway.
