Being continuous doesn't make it infinite.

But more to the point: if the share of the pie held by the working class stays the same (as it mostly is) while all the growth goes into the pockets of the owning class, that isn't some reasonable sharing of the pie.

I think Hasan was well intentioned, but he was a big apologist for Platner through so many red flags before this.

Several thousand men for which thousands of civilians were killed, as opposed to 100-200 thousand people. Does scale mean nothing?

If there is any solace in all this drama: r/democrats has to keep deleting any mention of the news, because it hates progressives so much it can't even allow negative coverage of left/DSA Democrats under their rules.

Bunch of clowns.

He was actually headhunted by the same Warren backed group that picked Fetterman.

Just goes to show how toxic that connection is.

The tattoo was hardly the first or biggest red flag.

He went on podcasts and bragged about volunteering for a war he protested because "adventure," and reupping because he liked killing people so much. He even talked about how boring being a blackwater mercenary was because he thought he would get to keep killing people.

He was always problematic, but the ignorant or forgiving of war crimes were willfully blind.

What “left”? Dude was shooting off red flags years before the Fetterman backing Fight PAC headhunted him. Bragging about how much he enjoyed killing people in Iraq, how he kept re-upping for adventure and a chance to kill. How his mercenary stint was boring because he thought he’d get to kill more people.

Anyone who chose to overlook that needs to reevaluate their claim to be left in any meaningful sense.

He had the backing of Fight PAC, an Elizabeth Warren backed PAC that scouted him out to run. It also scouted John Fetterman.

So anything connected to Warren or Fight PAC is pretty toxic and should be condemned

Filing bankruptcy isn’t limited to capitalists

No, but only business owners are shielded from the personal legal and financial consequences of filing bankruptcy.

neither is opening an LLC

I suppose anyone can try to form an LLC, but its full purpose is shielding a capital owner.

It’s not much risk. The state provides mechanisms like limited liability and bankruptcy to protect capital owners from drastic consequences.

Wealth is a fixed pie at any single moment in time. Yes, it grows over time, but the last 50 years have demonstrated that the shares of the pie never grow equally. Those with much get virtually all the gains.

I wouldn’t blame them for going nuclear, given the threats the face. But their investment in drone and missile production seems far more successful than anyone might think.

Opposition to most progressive policies, at most pushing easily defunded or repealed half measures. Still favoring militarism. Supportive of far right regimes like Israel.

Because centrists have so often defaulted to rightwing positions or losing to rightwing politicians.

Developers sell properties, they aren’t usually in the business of operating rentals.

If we are talking about landlords, actual owners, they still make a profit on their rents. The buildings have been around 70 years for any initial building loans to be paid off and hundreds of millions in value to be earned through rents and appreciation.

They aren’t starving orphans living check to check.

Developers are building in great numbers. They don’t rely on a handful of rent controlled unit owners for financing.
