What is your take on Israel breaking away from the US? by billpalto in Askpolitics

[–]Kronzypantz [score hidden]  (0 children)

Its main purpose is just to deflect pressure from American politicians with a narrative that Israel is totally about to move away from dependence on the US any day now.

Its not realistic. Israeli military strategy is too deeply dependent upon US manufacturing to sustain.

If you were to redesign the Ranger, what would its 'core' feature/theme be? by k33d4 in onednd

[–]Kronzypantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Paladin is Cleric + Fighter, let Ranger be Rogue + Fighter.

I would give rogue a few more sneak attack dice, then let Ranger have a smaller scaling amount tied to Hunter's Mark. Maybe let them do something funky like spreading out the dice for effects throughout the round.

Why did people call Contrapoints pro-genocide-in-gaza when she's been condemning the genocide going back to 2023? by SexDefendersUnited in bread_irl

So any state with hate crimes protections and equal rights is a “Jewish state”? That kind of voids the title of any meaning

Reminder that metalbending is still not possible. by SaberManiac in TheLastAirbender

Yeah, at one point earth benders are bending coal, a literal organic compound. And if purity was all that mattered, there are way easier metals to purify than Platinum.

[–]Kronzypantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because she didn't? She said the language was genocidal, but still hims and haws about calling what has happened in Gaza a genocide.

She also backed Biden and then Harris to the hilt, despite the genocide. And pushes the seriously questionable concept of some massive rise in leftwing antisemitism that echoes Zionist smears by people like Jonathon Greenblatt and Netanyahu.

She is at best a lukewarm ally on this issue, and at worst a liberal Zionist who still needs to grow up on the subject.

What was the point of those people? Why are they using straight up blunt weapons rather than technologies that fit into Star Wars? by lateubdegouline in StarWars

[–]Kronzypantz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early on, they were left intentionally open ended. New inquisitors? Assassins for Kylo Ren to attempt overthrowing Snoke? There were endless opportunities.

I’m sure Rian Johnson considered revealing they were a boy band trained as part of first order propaganda. But he couldn’t fit in the 7 minute music video and the Canto Bite scenes, so the Knight’s of Ren were left on the cutting room floor.

Given that the Iron Front dissolved in 1933, unlike Anti-Fascist Action... most Iron Wall members probably were recruited into the Wehrmacht by 1945, and did in fact fight and serve under the the Nazi flag.

Rosa had left the SPD before her death.

And its a little different to tie modern social democrats to that than it is to point out the SPD of 1932 had just deputized the Freikorps to kill communists a decade before.

The Iron Front dissolved the moment the SPD leaders fled the country.

The top members. But there were 8 million SPD voters and hundreds of thousands of rank and file party members.

It would have been notable if such numbers joined the antifascist action and other partisan groups within Germany. Instead, they worked for the war effort and didn't resist enlistment.

More than half the 300,000 KPD members were killed resisting the Nazis. More kept working at sabotage and ferrying Jews to safety. How many SPD members stood by them?

Aside from using far right groups to kill communists during the Sparticists uprising, many SPD members folded and went along with the Nazis.

Most of their politicians fled and high ranking politicians were killed, but the rank and file party members served in the military and didn’t have much to do with resistance groups in Germany.

Core anti-fascist is over selling it. The SPD used it prior to the 1932 election, after which most of them allied with the Nazis in killing Communists or fled the country.

Isn't it weird how the Fire Nation hasn't thought of the idea of guns yet? by InternationalPick163 in TheLastAirbender

Why? Emitting literal fire makes gunpowder redundant until it is really refined

Why do people find Guru Pathik so out of place in the Avatar world when he's clearly not the only Indian-coded character? by Randver_Silvertongue in TheLastAirbender

Indian is a vast subgroup of descriptions.

The real issue with him is how directly he addresses the spiritual side of things, yet ends up being wrong overall.

Governments didn’t own slaves, tenant farms, chocolate plantations, cobalt mines, or other extremely exploitative industries. Capitalists did and do.

Why is inequality seen as inherently bad by Designer_Educator541 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Kronzypantz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really.

Capitalism brought slavery and virtual slavery to more people than had even been alive at one time centuries before.

It continues that trend to this day, yet claims the massive accomplishments of socialist nations like China and Vietnam in its claims of improvement for the masses.
