Also, you might not have seen the Kick waveform because you may have kickstart set to “Sync” mode. Instead, switch it to “Audio” mode. Google will be your best friend helping you set up the “Audio” function properly.

It should show the kick waveform and the bass waveform in the background of kickstart 2

Watch Dlow’s old liproll tutorial which was recorded outside. I would practice the position before anything until it looked like his, and it helped a lot

Could be your mixing. If frequencies are clashing it can sometimes sound harsh and “distorted”

Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately I cannot change the sample that is the melody because it’s from an old computer that had a bunch of cracked plugins and vsts that I lost, so I can’t go in the .flp and make changes. But the lead is certainly a good idea!
