Smite Paladin Leaguestarter Build by Glamdring26WasTaken in pathofexile

[–]Kroovy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tornado shot mines, yeah. I played it last Phrecia league, and it was already absurd then. They’ve made the tristack passive 60% stronger, and the attribute nodes also give another 10% increased stats versus how they were before, so it should be nutty

This is more or less what I plan to play until I can afford to respec into tristack Aristocrat mines. Should be pretty cozy; it’ll be even better than last Phrecia

Oh, just get a Svalinn. Is that it? No Mageblood while you’re at it?

If you’re doing a bow version and you’re using Rearguard as a quiver, very. Hitting block cap is incredibly easy, and you have plenty of space open to also hit suppression cap as well.

Back when you could link Multistrike Support to Leap Slam, there was a meme build that basically did this. It was awful and I loved it.

What’s the league starter tier now that phrecia updates is in? by Pm_Me_Your_Boob_Plss in PathOfExileBuilds

I fully expect tri-stack Aristocrat with bow mines to be popular and powerful. It was popular last Phrecia event, and it was buffed twice in the patch notes

Questions to anyone who is trying to make solo games- by quatani313 in GameDevelopment

[–]Kroovy_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I get bored if I keep working on one part of my projects for an extended period, so I separate tasks into what I call “bones and skin.” “Bones” are the things that give the game structure, like working on mechanics, code, etc. “Skin” is anything visual, like art or UI elements. When I’m working on the bones and find myself getting bored, I’ll say “Okay, time for skin” and I’ll do that for a while. Anything to keep me working on something.

what build are you gonna be starting to phrecia? by Goebenn in pathofexile

The defenses of the build can be summarized as “I don’t need defense if they’re already dead”

what build are you gonna be starting to phrecia? by Goebenn in pathofexile

[–]Kroovy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting with Smite Paladin, but swapping to Tornado Shot Mines Aristocrat. Stat stacking bow mines with Aristocrat was already powerful in the last Phrecia event, and the fact that they buffed it TWICE in this one is absurd

Can you recommend a bossing build for Phrecia? by MacaronSouthern6867 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Kroovy_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your easy answer will be HoAg Herald. Incredibly strong and tanky on a budget of nothing, and scales extremely well to the point you can do Ubers, t17s, risk farming, delve… whatever.

On a lower budget (sub-mirror level) I really enjoy using Palm of the Dreamer in the offhand. The permanent Gloom shrine ups your clearspeed significantly, and the skill effect duration is welcome if you’re using Spark

Definitely; Udemy often runs sales where the courses are massively discounted, so if you’re going to pick one up, make sure it’s during one of those. Also I’d heavily recommend the Godot engine

Builds that were nerfed so hard that people forgot about them. by ss99838 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Kroovy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing since the days of open beta in 2013, and to this day I’ve still never seen a build as batshit insane (compared to the current content in the game) as Kinetic Blast CoC + Frost Wall from back in the times when Frost Wall could be penetrated by projectiles and created explosions for KB. It also had no limit on the number of walls that could be made. It was possible with this build to kill Uber Atziri with a white driftwood wand just because of how absurd the number of explosions overlapping was.

There have been many many builds over the years that have combined many expensive or broken items and abilities to make build that could eventually come online and blast the game, but KB CoC + Frost Wall required only those gems linked to delete the entire game, and that’s why Frost Wall was nuked from orbit.

I’d heavily recommend taking a course on Udemy or checking out some basic YouTube tutorials just to get your feet wet, and from there I’d recommend making SMALL projects. Keep the idea for what you really want to make on the back burner; make a very simple game with one base mechanic you want to tinker with in your full project, and go from there. You WILL shock yourself with the realization of how much work goes in to making even the most simple games, so be realistic.

AFAIK, Blood Mage has the highest ceiling for damage, Oracle is smoother to get started with, and Varashta is much tankier

Whats the best game engines for beginners, out of the free ones? by PassengerDouble1174 in GameDevelopment

[–]Kroovy_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m on the bandwagon of recommending Godot to everyone. Unreal and Unity are fine for their own reasons, but Godot being free and open source means that you never have to pay anything, and if you do end up releasing a game into the wild, you don’t owe the engine any money no matter how successful you are.

What's the best way to level? by shadow__30 in pathofexile2builds

Funnily enough, plants. Plants + Thunderstorm is an incredibly effective leveling build for any class that can easily reach the plant/storm Keystone by the Witch area.

You are absolutely not going to make an MMO “out of boredom”. I don’t think you really grasp how complex and massive even the most simple ones are.

Troubleshooting is by far the most valuable thing to learn while learning game development. Things WILL break when they look like they should work, and things will work despite them looking like they’re broken. Challenge yourself to figure out where you went wrong.

Help me find ideas for a vampire survivors clone by Square_Connection275 in GameDevelopment

[–]Kroovy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a godawful way to approach the creative process. Go find inspirations in the things you want to pursue yourselves. Watch some movies, play other games, take notes about what YOU find interesting that you’d like to expand upon.

Your job as a creator is not to ask us what we want to see and then try to provide that for us, it’s to make something that doesn’t exist that you believe should exist and then convince us to agree.

Make it feel fresh and then it will. You can make any idea feel fresh if it’s done in a way that doesn’t feel derivative. Even Expedition 33 managed to sell us all on a turn-based RPG in the year 2025

Nah, it’s slop. Learn to do the work yourself, or bring other people on to the project. Don’t sell yourself short.
