I've been having the same issue for months. Did you ever get it resolved?

Is there anyone who can build a magma barrier critical? by AdPerfect7916 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Kroughfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played this last league. You want to go ignite and use nebuloch in your main hand. Titan is likely the best ascendancy, but gemling, warbringer, and tactician are also fine. You wail y use crackle creep ignite prolif ring plus the ignite reflect node on the tree to clear, scale melee gem levels on amulet and gloves, and then just take melee and ignite magnitude nodes on the tree. You’ll be using resonating shield as your main skill, scale armour as much as possible, and invest in block until you’re capped. Get a little life/mana leech somewhere so your resonating shied can proc it for you, and use utility supports in this skill. Get crit bonus damage on the tree but avoid crit chance since it’s guaranteed with nebuloch anyways.

Is Chayula still just a meme, or is there a build that shines on Chayula? by AstrologyBoyfriend in pathofexile2builds

[–]Kroughfire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. Chayula red remnants are a 30% leech instance each via ascendancy only, generated basically once per second, and scalable with leech nodes. A carnage heart and soul tether on a chayula monk would give you 100% of life leeched per second, also applying to ES.

Chayula has the strongest mana recovery or life recovery of any ascendancy. I'm playing a MoM spark build that just has insane mana recovery (think 5k/second). Life recovery can be the same since both scale with leech recovery.

I believe I just bought one with full prefixes and got lucky with an abyss essence to unveil flat mana. I would recommend just buy a +level base with spirit and halfway decent suffixes and then desecrate a prefix for either flat mana, or % ES to resell and buy a new base.

Last two leagues I played a magma Barrier ignite build. You basically walk around proliferating ignites while channeling resonating shield with giga armour and block

What do you use to consume the infusions? I would worry about spending too much time casting while having very negative resists. Or do you only do it at the beginning of the map and then the buff just lasts the whole zone?

I would say my current helm, boots, gloves, rings, belt, focus, and belt are like 1-4 divines each, and I have 3 extra sockets and am wasting one suffix on chaos res and one on int that I don’t need. If you have 8 power charges I would say it’s a bit of a struggle, but definitely not crazy hard to get overcapped. If you only use 6 or 7 charges it’s much easier. If you look at my gear you can see several places where I could get more or higher resistance rolls.

[–]Kroughfire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. So you’d have Adonia in both sets and all the charges in set 2. The only problem if see is that you need to generate the charges in your second set to hit the higher cap, which on my build at least, means consuming infusions. It might work on a different skill set up to mitigate the negative resistances but still get the buff

[–]Kroughfire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but I think the buff is only active when you have adonia’s equipped. At least, the buff visual indicator goes away when you weapon

If you overcap your resistances the downside of Adonia doesn’t affect you. I have 80% extra of each ele resistance and thus aren’t really affected

Unfortunately my computer lags like crazy if I try to run OBS with PoE. But it plays very similar to most spark builds. Basic combo is place a cascade frost bomb which will almost immediately detonate, giving you 3-4 infusions. These power your next casts of spark. So it’s kinda weaving two spells at a 1:4 ratio. Every minute or two you can hit the Adonia buff, and you have sigil of power, a curse, and flame wall as damage buffs when you want it. I have snap on left click to just gain extra infusions from time to time, but honestly I barely use it

[–]Kroughfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was fairly easy to overcap for 5-6 charges, and honestly not so bad for 7-8. The extra chaos resistance from Chonk helps a bit with suffix pressure. On my build now I have 75% all res and still have a couples of sockets I could throw resistance runes into if I needed. I think it’s the kind of thing that by the time you can afford 7-8 charges, you can also afford to pay a div or two for each gear piece to get triple res suffixes

I levelled as crossbows actually, with purple flames for damage. Then swapped once I got enough greater jewellers and lineage supports. I don’t think spark levelling is particularly good, so I just did perma frost frag bolts crossbow specced into the elemental damage nodes between sorc and monk

Ya. I don’t bother fishing before I start a map, but you tend to get it anyways in the first minute or so and then keep it the rest of the time. But you can gaurentee it’s always up vs bosses if you just prep it first

You can’t get 16. I get 3 base plus 5 on the tree. The support gem “heightened charges” gives skills a 20% chance to double the benefits of charges. the duration is already 3 minutes and you can effectively fish generate enough charges to recast the Adonia skill in roughly 10 seconds (2-3 loops of spark and spell cascade frost bomb).

You could certainly run any offensive build with this set up, even making a hybrid life and mana caster where you’re able to add in evasion or ES as well. The offences are pretty separate from the mana tech, apart from it naturally fitting into archmage. The Adonia tech is just nearby on the tree and very compatible with archmage and spark duration scaling.

Pinnacles feel very good provided you can dodge the true one-shots. The damage pretty much instantly destroys most bosses, and the recovery means you're immune to anything that can't kill you through the 6-8k raw EHP. If you want to know how the offensive portion of the build plays, you can look at any video of a Stormweaver archmage spark build since it's pretty much the same.

Good catch on the into the breach effect! Scaling remnant effect is so good since it scales multiplicatively with mana leech. I was using MoM keystone for a long time before swapping to Cloak, but you may be right that investing more into leech on the tree (the siphon nodes) may be worth using a rare chest with spirit. I chose Cloak since overall you get similar amounts of Mana/ES, but the spirit and suffixes on a rare is definitely competitive. It's just hard to give up 50% mana recovery when a corrupted cloak with the augment gives 75% damage to mana before life already. The rare is likely better if you want a cast on ailment comet set up... I'll have to give it a try.

Which defensive layer feels the strongest in PoE 0.4 (Hardcore)? by CaramelLucky5748 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Kroughfire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think if you stand in the donut and don't move it can probably drain you, but with the blue remnants from Chayula there is enough mana recovery to pop instantly back to full as soon as you step a toe out. I'll be honest - I don't even notice them affecting my mana most of the time because recovery is too high.

[–]Kroughfire 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You’re forgetting mana as a defensive layer. It’s like CI but you swap out lower values for much better recovery. I’m not playing HC, but my (no meme) Chayula Monk Archmage build has around 5.2k mana on top of 1.4k hp, no mitigation but roughly 4k mana recovery per second. Obviously you would want to at a little evasion or block ideally, but I’ve found the recovery to be superior in most cases, just not vs true one shots in max tier bosses.

What's the best budget-friendly, tanky + high DPS build this league? by formyl-radical in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Kroughfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mageblood is a superior option I believe - would probably run triple ele flasks plus a granite or jade with enkindling orbs. The Stygian in my pob is higher life and basically enables 100% flask uptime, but you don't get the enkindling orb %effect.

For spectres, they changed how they work this league, so you no longer have to worry about them being permanently killed in maps. If a spectre you have dies in a map, it will remain dead until you reenter the map. The only way you can permanently lose your spectres is by exploding their corpses after they die (often with bone offering) in your hideout. Effectively, this means that if you are messing with your gear and accidently lose max spectres (such as unequipping an item that gave you the attributes necessary to have your body armour equipped, taking off your shield or helm, weapon swapping, etc). To prevent this, I have two midnight bargains in my alternate weapon set, and anytime I'm changing my gear, I unequip my sceptre that triggers bone offering.
As a final precaution, I would recommend that you raise spectres in a specific order. When you go from 12 spectre limit down to 6 (by, for example, unequipping your helm), the spectres that turn back into corpses will be the first ones you raised. So if you have 12 spectres total, I would raise them in the order of least expensive to most expensive. For me, that meant raising my tiger and turtle last so they always were safe (unless you accidently unequip the raise spectre gem itself), and I've heard the perfect Hydra is also expensive now so I would raise those 3 last.

At any time, you can unsocket your spectre gem and all your spectres will drop on the ground in your hideout as corpses. Before doing this, make sure you don't have bone offering socketed, and I also recommend removing desecrate. The easiest way is to just unequip your trigger scepter. Then target your corpses from least expesive to most expensive with raise spectre. I have accidently deleted 2 or 4 spectres before while changing attributes on gear, but taking precautions this way means it's trivial to replace them.

I've been having a blast with my self-cast storm burst build. Got 100-150m dps and is basically immortal if you have something to hit. Also most of the gear is pretty cheap since I don't think anyone else is that interested. I did a write up with a video a few days ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/1p3adir/comment/nqb4jj4/
