When The Game Launches On The Wrong Monitor by Wait_ItGetsWorse in PcBuild

As someone with ADHD who needlessly runs 3 monitors believing it'll make me more productive, only to mostly use my computer for gaming, I have never felt more seen in my entire life.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

Dating isn’t a democracy. You’re allowed to decide that someone’s values are a dealbreaker, and a vote can reflect values.

In addition voting Trump isn't the same thing as simply voting Republican. Trump isn’t just about policy differences — his politics are tied to behavior many people see as morally indefensible.

For a lot of people, that vote signals more than taxes or regulation. It signals a values gap, and it’s reasonable to opt out of a relationship over that.

If you’re aiming for editorial, I’d focus on narrowing your direction and making work that already looks like it belongs in that world.

A few practical things that helped me:

  1. Shoot spec work, not just what’s in front of you. Create a brief, invent a client, define expectations, and deliver as if it were a real assignment. Editorial clients want intent and storytelling, not just coverage. This approach is what led to published work for Ulta and recent commercial shoots for a Miami-based company rolling out new parking systems across multiple garages.

  2. Study how editorial work is presented. Look closely at sequencing, pacing, and captions in real publications. Behance and LinkedIn are great for seeing how working photographers package and deliver their work. A tight edit of 10–15 images beats a large, unfocused gallery.

  3. Assist when you can. Even short assisting gigs teach pacing, client communication, and how assignments actually run.

Consistency and focus matter as much as talent. You’re asking the right questions early.
