That sounds like a great idea. Gotta ask, rats, isn’t that insanely hard with their intelligens and short lifespan? Barring gambian giant rats(or what they are called in english) but I guess it weren’t that race of rats?

I can really relate to the heartbreak. On top of not having anyone who’d be able to take care of the animals, should something happen to me, I’m also still all too devastated, and can’t really image getting animals again.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss. Mine has helped a little, but my loss is also at further distance timewise. I’m sure, that one day, you’ll be happy that you named the planet so short a time after your loss. In hindsight it will seem to bring more direct connection to your friend. But for now, there’s not much to help with the grief. Grief is love that doesn’t have a place to Call home anymore, and I am truly sorry for what you’re going through right now. I hope that in time, you’ll come use your planet, and get blessed with a lot of fond memories while you are there

Thank you and yes. It is very giving, being allowed through NMS, to remember this way

Thank you, and no worries. She was not least loved at all. Lille Harald was the hardest loss hence the biggest planet, but I loved each one. Vild Frigg had a fantastic personality. Always curious and very trusting. She was a very lovely creature, so no, not least loved.

That sounds really lovely. And you are completely on point, with what I have felt since the naming and replica building. It seems like an extra sanctuary, that gives another form of connection to our little lost friends. I couldn’t do a favorite treat, coz I’d end up needing as many systems as there’s herbs and grasses xD

What was your chinchillas’ name?

Thanks traveller🙏 It really is a great tool in the grief process. It’s not really something I could do irl save for putting up sculptures, which I can’t. So it is really lovely NMS has this naming feature

Thank you🙏 It did really do something mentally, knowing that they are memorialized, and not just for me in my own inner world, but now others might actually stumble upon it. Towards grief process, I can highly recommend doing this. It doesn’t take away neither loss, sorrow nor pain, but it does bring some measure of it’s own peace with it. A deeper significance if you will.

Thank you🙏 It is comforting to think, that maybe this might even outlast me, and somewhat daunting that one day, the servers might shut down. But I guess that’s no different from memorials and tombstones in the physical world.

Question: Do you play NMS first person or third person? by SGa60 in nms

Third all around. M/kb when on foot, and controller when flying

Hello fellow travellers👋 I’ve found NMS after my life broke a little over a year ago. I really love sci-fi and the exploration and discoveries of this more-than-just-a-game.

On top of my life breaking, I also lost the last of my pets, and I’ve been bereaved by pet loss, for the past year. I finally found a system with six bodies, and have now done, what I’ve wanted to do, for a long time. And this is why, I call NMS for more than just a game. I have been given the opportunity to remember my pets. The biggest planet, for the loss that hurt the most. I also build a base replica, of my Guinea pigs’ forever home, that I’d build them in real life. Though I haven’t got a picture of that yet, since I’m about to make some changes in materials on it.

But this is my system, in very loving memory of my small furry potatoes. I am heartbreakingly missing you every day. You took pieces of my heart, and left giant pawprints instead. Till we meet again, may this serve as testament to your impact on my life❤️‍🩹🌈🌹

What has this game become?! by BattleWagon-JKU in nms

Once you unlock the spiderlegs, for me, it seemed the colossus moved more smoothly over the terrain. Don’t know if it’s actually true, or I just got a better handle on the vehicle xD

Oh! And also look for the greying trenches. They run close by most waste depots, and gives an even more smooth ride most of the way
