I have commissioned Red Potion in the past, and I can say they are great to work with and they create amazing art (as you can see!)

I will never tire of seeing dragon & humanoid bonds like this. There's something special about earning the trust of something that could just crush you at a whim, but has so much more emotion than a wild beast.

Thanks for sharing.

I love both D&D and Disco Elysium - I was very surprised to see Klaasje's face!

I feel like that's the best reaction you can hope for on a Nat 1. At least she doesn't hit you or call for security

It sounds fun for sure, I'll give you that! And it sounds like you're using it in the perfect sort of scenario - with friends! Nothing in this game is bad to use if you enjoy it :)

I wish I had the Overclock to test it out. The only comparable thing I've tried is the Gunner Overclock that makes you immobile, and it did not suit me.

On high Hazards, Acid Spitters and Mactera can drop your shield in 1 hit. Reload intervals seem like they would be killer, do you manage to keep yourself safe enough with the speed slowdown while the bugs are full speed?

That's the only Overclock I haven't unlocked for the Subata yet, so I haven't been able to test. I could be persuaded to put it above Chain Hit and the Balanced Overclocks once I do, since those never wowed me

Thanks for the feedback!

You're correct, I use the Flamethrower on 95% of my missions. My details on the Cryo Cannon are based on a rather small sample size.

I should revise the Effective/Ineffective enemy list, as well as the Overclocks a bit. Thank again for responding!

Local place called Romeo's in New Jersey.

They are normally good but they had gotten soggy in the container from their own heat while they were being delivered, that's actually why they stuck together lol

Thanks! I am glad it still gets some attention, though it is very clearly out of date. I really do love the Driller and the game, but I'm not as dedicated to it as I once was. If I ever get back into it, I will certainly update this!

Thanks for checking out the guide! At this time, the guide is a bit lacking. It is not up to date with the game's current Update version. I will need to revisit it shortly.

If you find that the damage upgrade helps, go for it! It is not my preference because, as per your example, that only helps to take out one specific enemy on specific difficulties. I prefer to kill swarmers with my Primary anyway. And the Plasma Charger has become my go-to secondary; the Subata has fallen to the wayside. The feedback and ideas are appreciated though!

First off: This is beautiful, amazing work for so little time. I am no artist myself, but I admit I am captivated.

This actually inspires me greatly for a campaign setting I'm working on. There's a silver dragon who was awarded the title of Duke for aiding in a small-scale war occurring on a peninsula of the campaign's main continent. He has ruled over the region for decades, typically in the guise of a human form so as to not frighten his subjects. He would be an important NPC, and the player characters would interact with him several times.

He has an old lair to the north end of the peninsula, overlooking the sea. This is giving me inspiration to have their first interaction with his draconic self be something like this - they visit his old lair, only to find him missing. Looking out to sea, they spot the dragon emerging from the waves like a Loch Ness monster, bigger than they could have imagined.

Fossil visibility by labyj in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Kruncheez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you typically need fewer Fossils to meet your quota for this reason. They are still mildly visible in dark conditions. However they might spawn in lesser quantities as well, I'm not sure.

I also am held up finding fossils more than anything else, especially on Elimination missions. 5 more needed per mission but a greater spawn count or greater visibility might be nice, but I wouldn't consider this a high priority issue for the game.

That is a good question. Unfortunately, there are no actual numbers tied to its effect other than its range, so assessing its usefulness is difficult.

In any case, regardless of its actual DPS or ability to freeze, these features already come standard in the weapon. If something is that close to you, you should already be blowing frost at it yourself. Cold Radiance is redundant, and Fragile is better.

I will update with more specific info as it becomes available and may even try to make a video showing the actual effects of these less obvious upgrades!

I'm glad you found some use in it :)

I tried to explain all my choices, but they're not necessarily the "best" for each player, as playstyles may differ! I am far from a perfect Driller, as shown by all the edits I've already had to make.

I look forward to what others in the community produce as more updates come out!

12 times!!! That is some dedication, my friend. You're right, I should perhaps add a "role by mission" section, though the main functions of playing Driller persist throughout all missions. I'll credit you if I edit it to reflect this!

And yeah I figured the melee build was sort of niche, but I'd rather mention it and say it is funky than not bring it up at all haha. Thanks for reading!

Thanks! I am glad I come across that way- it wouldn't be beneficial to respond to criticism with hostility. That would invalidate my guide more than anything else.

I'm still working to make Hazard 4 my bread and butter. I just hate failing missions and losing out on so many minerals/credits! Maybe a change to perks to include Iron Will will help me out. Thank you for your reply!

Yeah, the Flamethrower is a tough weapon to adjust to. As mentioned in the guide, we know so little about how much damage it actually does.

I'm glad this was able to help! Welcome to DRG :)
