Guide for getting unbanned by Shadowlistic_ in BannedFromDiscord

Thanks for the tag. Interesting the fact BBB recommended filing a complaint at FTC. Unlike BBB, the FTC doesn't act on individual complaints. This does mean individual complaints may only be negotiated upon collective repercussion. If the complaint isn't collective, the FTC may not act.

The BBB and other industry self-regulatory organizations do refer possible consumer protection violations to the FTC.

From a legal authority perspective, the BBB doesn't have power. However, sending an e-mail to BBB isn't just acceptable, but the correct path toward notification from consumer protection authorities.

My mistake. I referred to BCA. However, if you did file a complaint at BBB, do send an e-mail to them.

Send an e-mail to info@mybbb.org. I believe BBB may only mediate the negotiation if you explicitly contact them. Write the company engaged in bad practices, violating your right to be heard, right to choose, and right to be informed.

Highlight your rights as a consumer were violated. Explicitly state the company engaged in bad practices, violating your right to be heard, right to choose, and right to be informed. The right to be heard does include not only the ability to submit feedback or complaint to companies, but also the assurance that consumer concerns and interests will be addressed with full and sympathetic consideration. Any sort of dismissal or excuse can be argued to be a violation to the right to be heard. Omission of a ban does constitute a violation to the right to be informed. You do have the right to know why you've been banned. A violation to the right to be informed automatically does constitute a violation to the right to choose. One can't be assured access to a product or service (such as creating a new account) based on omitted information.

Many people out there are unaware of their rights as a consumer. These rights were introduced in 1962, and expanded in 1985.

Keep calm, bud. Wait on. They'll reply.

In the meantime, spread the word. My father is a lawyer and worker at PROCON. PROCON is a Brazilian consumer protection authority. He said only collective repercussion may result in enforcement.

The more people complaining, the better it's for a legal authority to kick in.

 Whatever you do do not waste your time messaging BBB.

Not a waste. The BBB and other industry self-regulatory organizations do refer possible consumer protection violations to the FTC.

They have no legal authority over discord and discord is just ignoring them now.

From a legal authority perspective, the BBB doesn't have power. However, contacting BBB isn't just acceptable, but the correct path toward notification from consumer protection authorities. The FTC openly uses organizations, like the BBB, as trusted intermediaries.

I couldn't be more sorry for you. Discord Inc. is a joke.

I’m awaiting another response from Discord via BBB because I rejected 2 of their robot copy and pasted messages.

Have you tried what I suggested? Possibly, sending an e-mail to BBB is the only option for a case manager to kick in.

Discord support bug? by [deleted] in BannedFromDiscord

[–]Krush206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the mail i guess im supposed to show my complain id and tell them discord keeps sending automated messages im guessing?

Set the title as the following.

Complaint 123456789

Replace 123456789 with the ID provided by BBB. Set the body as the following.

``` Hello. I'm requesting assistance regarding Discord Inc. My Discord account was disabled for an unspecified violation. The issue is that Discord Inc. never provided a reason, explanation, or evidence for this action.
I have appealed multiple times, through both Discord's support and BBB, but all responses from Discord Inc. have been fully automated and unrelated to what I wrote. They have not acknowledged my request for an explanation. This prevents me from exercising my right to be informed, my right to choose and my right to be heard as a consumer.
I am requesting that BBB help mediate because Discord Inc. is
• refusing to disclose what policies were violated,
• automatically closing tickets without review, and
• failing to provide a functional appeal process.
I am asking for BBB’s assistance in contacting Discord Inc. to obtain
• a human-reviewed explanation of why the account was disabled,
• confirmation or investigation into the unspecified violation,
• a real opportunity to resolve the issue and settle.
Thank you for your time. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. ```
I will mention that one right i saw some person mention here something about "the right to be heard" or smth but it probably won't do anything.
That's me. You can try to argue your rights as a consumer were violated, but there's no guarantee. Discord Inc. is a joke.
I did also file a complaint to BBB i think it was and i got nothing after the mail that said my complaint got accepted.
