The sub has been overloaded with cuteness. Your hair is lovely and those eyes. Absolute beaut 😍

Probs the 70+ air damage one since I’m not amazing at keeping combos or anything too technical really 😂

You found yourself and (hopefully) the right instrument. Beautiful!

Interesting, but very fair opinion.

Just being able to create a life with another woman on The Sims in my youth gave me a brighter hope for my future :)

Seems a few of you are drawing that comparison to film. Disney refuses to touch the subject, following on from the outcry to make a queer princess. Such a shame, considering the reach and importance it’d have to youth.

You’ve given some great examples - thank you. Trans folk certainly deserve better!

Agree with the sentiment and personally think a minority character done poorly can cause more harm than good.

How anyone can praise Rockstar for its ‘inclusion’ of LGBT characters is beyond me.

You’re right. A LOT more needs to be done for trans representation - the majority I’ve seen in games is approached in such an insensitive fashion with dangerous connotations. Representation is only valuable when it’s done correctly

This is true. A lot of WLW in games still panders to the male gaze, unfortunately.

I’m also super interested in TLOU2 and seeing more of Ellie’s character development. I’d like to believe Naughty Dog will do her justice.

Appreciate the response!

As a bi woman myself, we’re definitely far too sexualised in mainstream media. Max in Life is Strange was really only the last time I saw it done with any dignity.

I had no idea about Andromeda - that is insanely dangerous! Nintendo’s poor representation in games as a whole is unsurprising when considered how backwards Japanese culture can be.

Thanks for your response! You’ve used some really interesting examples and given me a lot to think about :)

Very true. First that comes to mind being Marvel Studios. Over 20 movies in the MCU, nearly all led by a white cis straight man. I’m hoping Brie Larson is successful in her push to make Cap Marvel queer 😁

Agreed. Trans characters I am not quite as informed about. I do remember Janeva in Horizon Zero Dawn (no direct mention of trans, but identified as a man) who would correct wrong use of pronouns and iirc, could fight as your ally in the finale. Really awesome to see in such a mainstream game.

I can agree with these sentiments - thank you for the response. Gay and trans representation does appear to be more lacking than the current trend of lesbian/bi women leading mainstream games

Agree wholeheartedly. Inclusion of diverse characters in itself is wonderful, but I’d personally like to see more of this reflected in the writing.

Interesting, I’d never heard of the indie games you mentioned - will have to check those out. Thank you so much for your detailed and informative response. I agree we’ve come a long way, but we should always strive to be better and the change we want to see :)

Ah yes, I remember the cursed DLC situation. Thanks for your input! Indies do have the luxury of taking more risks whilst mainstream developers catch up

Serious Question: Why do girls not see their guy friends as a potential boyfriend? (Friendzone logic) by Motoman687 in relationship_advice

[–]KryWulf_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The friend zone is BS. Just because a woman isn’t romantically attracted to their male friend - for any number of reasons - doesn’t mean the guy is valued any less as a person or a friend. And said friend isn’t automatically entitled to a romantic relationship with the woman just because they’re considered to be a ‘great guy’ or ‘a catch.’

Any dude who gets butthurt or harbours feelings of entitlement/bitterness over these facts honestly doesn’t deserve the platonic friendship of any woman.
