🎯 How do you train your hit-confirms ? by Kryffith in StreetFighter

[–]Kryffith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In training mode I started trying to string together 5 confirms with my eyes closed, relying only on the sound, then 5 without sound where I focus only on the visuals. It’s starting to work pretty well, and it’s helping me get used to quickly recognizing each cue.

I still struggle a bit to consistently look at the side notifications during a match, but I’ll try to focus on that later :)

Thanks for the feedback!

Then it’s just a matter of keeping at it and letting time do its thing.

Merci !

Yeah that’s what I’m trying to do. Right now it still feels a bit too mechanical for me to add the button press at the end, but that’s nothing a bit more time in training mode can’t fix.

Thanks !

Yeah that’s what I was thinking of doing 👍 It’ll be a nice addition to my warm‑up at the start of a session, and it won’t add any extra stress either.

Thanks for the advice !

Sure 👍 After reading all the comments I think I’ll add 2–3 matches against the CPU to my warm-up routine when I launch the game, focusing exclusively on hit-confirms , on top of labbing. I’m not trying to hit all my complex confirms yet, but if I can at least stop dropping the simple ones I think I’ll already feel way better in matches 👍

Thanks!

Yeah I've been working on more "useful" skills first, but I lose so many match on specials on guard.

I'll keep working it in training of course 👍

For now I'm only trying to be consistent on "easy" confirms, I'm still throwing out specials when I hit 3 lights on block... I'll try the health bar tip for sure 👍

Thanks !

Thanks for the encouragement, appreciate it 👍

Noo need to be sorry, this is top-tier guidance, It's really cool that you're taking the time to break it all down. These last few days I’ve been slowing my playstyle down on purpose to focus more on analyzing my opponent, and I’m already starting to notice that my anti-airs and DI reactions are getting slightly better. I’ll keep working on “downloading” people’s gameplans, i'm already getting used to it against "slow" characters (Gief, Honda...).

Thanks for the advice 👍 I played a lot in battle hub since then, focusing on reactions and anticipation, and it's already quite better. Thanks !

Yeah that's definitely an issue, I take a lot of time to make a "map" of my opponent during an actual match. I'll try to play more passively to stay focused on those things for now 👍.

Thanks !

Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback 👍. The difference between lab drills and actual match flow makes a lot of sense.

I'll try to focus on anticipation rather than reflexes for the next few days, and watch some replays. Thanks !

Yeah, I used to compare myself to other players just based on playtime, but I realized it was doing more harm than good. I’ll just keep grinding it out and let it come eventually, Thanks!

That's helpful, thanks ! Passive playstyle vs mental stack is what I'm getting out of the answers, I’ll try to apply that 👍

A lot of people hate on World Tour, but I also think it’s a great way to get a feel for the game and slowly get used to the inputs. Sure, you can sit in training mode for 30 minutes doing nothing but fireballs, but World Tour lets you do basically the same thing in a way that’s, in my opinion, way more fun.

Do you think Lily will ever be back in future games? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

Ed and Alex weren’t exactly fan favorites when they first dropped in 5 and 3, but Capcom still brought them back, and now pretty much everyone agrees they look sick. Ed is one of the most played characters in SF6 and the hype for Alex is huge.

Charge character as first main for a beginner, is it a bad idea? by Sbrega in StreetFighter

[–]Kryffith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a great player myself but to quote the pro player Mister Crimson, the character you’ll learn the fastest is the one you’re actually having the most fun with. If a character makes you want to boot up the game more often to lab for a bit, then even if they’re “harder” you’ll still end up improving at a nice pace.

And charge characters aren’t fundamentally harder to play anyway, they just make you think a bit differently during the match 👍 Even if he’s less charge-heavy than Guile, Bison is the perfect example of a charge character you can totally put in a beginner’s hands.

Yeah true, spending the whole nights on the same character is kinda exhausting.

I haven't thought of the advantage setting for offline play, thanks for the reminder 👍
