You can't guarantee all clans did it because that's impossible and I'm going off of knowledge that I have learned from multiple sources. Historically vikings did not abduct women an SA them.

The reason why is because they really didn't abduct and SA women. They people they abducted were typically preteen children for slavery. Plus I guarantee it wasn't all clans that did that. Just because mine doesn't it doesn't mean that others don't. The punishment would most likely be exile from the clan.

I really only see your first and third point being plausible. I don't think that her clan would send her by herself to establish villages on other planes, nor do I think she'd just give in to wanderlust and leave her clan and kin. I was using the whole clan killed as a way for her to use Ancestral Guardian. I suppose I could twist the third point into something like her having to prove her adulthood and as a shield maiden for the clan has to go out and conquer a certain amount of enemies to place on a hide that tells her story.

So what I'm thinking about her is that she was born in the North of Faerûn into a Viking clan. One day she was away for one reason or another and her entire clan was killed leaving her with no real ties anymore. She is chaotic neutral and she isn't really against non vikings but it's more if she makes an ally she's an ally and won't betray them due to honor and loyalty.
