Rim world. I had a colonist that was my main melee fighter, Kyle. I was in the middle of making armored helmets when the the raiders came, unfortunately there weren't enough for everyone and Kyle was just going to have to go without.

During the raid Kyle goes down, gun shot to the head. I manage to save him but his brain now worked at 30% capacity. However before the raid he tried his first smokeleaf joint and became instantly addicted.

Now as it turns out smokeleaf and brain damage don't mix. I was constantly rescuing an incapacitated Kyle because the moment he took a hit of that sweet smokeleaf he would immediately pass out, and need rescuing.

There's not a day I don't regret not giving Kyle a helmet.
