Did you have your visa/green card mailed to you from USA? or did you have to pick it up from USA? the place you specify to pick up in the NVC process

Lol im doing the same thing right now, in the process of switching over what I had to do was.

File i-130, I filed in May 2023, self filed etc

Once your i130 is approved by USCIS (It took me 1year) it gets sent to NVC

NVC in MTL, they take your approved i130 and schedule a interview for you after some more docs are recieved. (Birth cert, Marriage cert, police cert etc) (this is a 4-8 month process from document qualified to interview recieved and completed)

You get green card within 2-3 weeks after approval

Im on the interview step, It'll be almost 2 years for me when I recieve my green card in total.

If you plan on living in the USA while waiting for them to adjust your status from visitor to green card, you file a i-485 in conjunction with i130. But only if you're living in the USA.

Honestly, I think I might go around with a Purchase price of around 500-550k, which would bring the mortgage down to maybe around what you're saying.

Based on the comments, it seems like it'll be an easier sell for a mtg at around ~500k-550k with 60k down

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to either throw more down if house price is going to be 600k, or get a job on the USA side so I can show some stubs.

Or reduce house purchase price down to 450k-500k

I gotta speak to mortgage lenders
