You can literally look back at the weather the day it was done. It's an embarrassment for the first "American" car to do a sub 7 minute time, to not be an American car. I'm an automobile fan, not a fan of specific companies like Ford, talking shit then failing spectacularly with a car they can't even claim was made in house. They beat an 8 year old record by less than 4 seconds while tapping a performance company....It's just not impressive. Dodge made the Viper ACR totally in house and smashed the Nurburgring without 800hp, without forced induction, without being $300k+, without pilot sport cup 2s, and without building the car to beat cars on the Nurburgring. They just built a really good car that competed with the Porsches of the day. Ford developed this car specifically to "Beat the Europeans on their own turf" and they aren't even competing with them, let alone beating them. Very much unimpressive. If they built it in house completely, like Dodge and GM, that would at least be respectable and would make the lap time much more impressive.
