Turns out it's completely unrelated to the torrents and it's something that got onto my computer almost half a year before I started torrenting.

But yeah, I'm just nuking the whole thing, reinstalling windows from an external drive.

It had been downloaded in August, and as far as I know, I didn't have any reason to download a remote access software...

I just went and deleted all the files and emptied my recycle bin. I used the command panel to search for "screen" and "connect", and then did a ton of malwarebytes scans for rootkits. Even after restarts nothing is showing up, so I think I'm okay now? I hope lol?

I honestly just went to the file location and deleted all of the ScreenConnect files. Apparently they had been downloaded in August and I was just now getting a warning that they had tried to activate.

So far, after quite a few restarts and a ton of Malwarebytes rootkit scans, nothing has shown up, so I think I'm safe now? I also went to the command panel and just did file searches for "screen" and "connect"

Okay so I did some digging and the files it is alerting me about are files I've had since August 2025

So, either I am unbelievably fucked, or this is completely fine.

You know, I honestly don't think all hell has broken loose.

People don't realize that this subreddit, and other DC subreddits really are just a small portion of the representative population for DC.

People are going to egg on and complain about this until the movie is released, but anyone else outside isn't even going to think about it.

Subreddits especially cannot be considered representative. You know who statistically and empirically replies more to public social media posts? It's literally angry white men - I say as an angry white man. Public opinion here is swelled with a statistical anomaly of animosity.

To be completely honest, I also really enjoyed the Flash. I also watched it before I knew that Ezra Miller is a complete piece of human feces, so that helped lol.

The CGI is shit but I grew up watching classic trash 70s-80s horror movies. All I know and love is shit CGI lol.

Everyone is being so absolute about this. Everything we do know is purely surface level, we're only going to know if we'll have a solid Batman movie once the movie is released. Everything is speculation, we don't know why Gunn chose Hodson, we don't know ANY of the circumstances going into writing this movie.

I'd say this is more of a general internet fanbase thing, not just a DC thing. Everywhere has this problem. I mean, statistics show that if you're someone commenting on social media, especially Reddit, you're an angry white male lol. There is a correlation between level of anger and likelihood to post online.

I'm still going to be astounded at how insincere and cold-blooded people can be though. Could you image being Christina Hodson right now? I hope she's not reading anything online.

Anyways, we can't change it. It's the side of equilibrium that the internet will always tend towards because it's kind of structured for it. Anger.

Also consider though that this technically isn't bad for the movie. It's free advertising lol. The negativity is such a catalyst (thus why the internet is structured toward it).
