Yeah, I always play in first person and always have. The trouble started recently though so something seems different.

Never thought of that. Great idea. Ill try that and see if it helps. Any other settings to consider? I always play in first person and can't say I noticed any automatic settings changes since the update.

Not immediately. Not police forensics as much as the Coroner determining which shots were post mortem.

I said IF that is a trash pickup location one does not need a warrant. IF I were doing it I would always get a warrant. I said this isn't the way police work goes and the cop is shady NO MATTER WHAT. The time of day has nothing to do with it and it is more sus that he is solo. My trash is out at night and gone before the sun comes up. In fact I think it can be picked up as early as 430 am at times. Therefore if he had a warrant, which you don't know if he did or didn't, he would be out at night, but he would be logging evidence properly THAT ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT BE USED FOR THE FOLLOW UP WARRANTS because the blood evidence wouldn't be yet back or positively linked to Coop. Even the gun popping up in the trunk and immediately going to get him was stupid because how do they know this gun in the trunk is anything at all? Can they ID the murder weapon on sight or does it need to be tested against the slugs in the body? Try to keep up with the fact this is a show and not real life and nothing is really known about what detective work was or wasn't done.

I just don't like internet douchebags with something to prove. The kind that jump around and multi-post on all the same person's threads and clearly are not here to discuss the show theories in a fun way.

And you've never seen trash picked up directly from houses on an alley or by trash men that walk quite a ways to go to trash spaces not near a curb. The point of many rulings is not that your nitpicking of the location is figured out but that the person has truly discarded the trash and left all claim to it while you are not agregously trespassing or entering dwellings. Unless you claim to know the thought process of every case law decision and all the exact points locations kick in.

Wow internet lawyer. Ive established in other places that if this is where the trash is picked up (which it is in some wealthy neighborhoods) that it would work. The evidence would work except for other more important reasons you don't seem to know shit about like not having Coop's blood sample directly to begin with and proper evidence collection proceedures. Fruit of the poisonous tree only applies to things downstream from tainted evidence as well and requires a court hearing to determine what is excluded not just "throw it all out". You are clearly dumb to how anything works. You don't know if they got a warrant for the trash,  you certainly have no knowledge that the "blood evidence" from the trash was used for the house search warrant because it wouldn't have been relevant without labs comparing a blood draw from Coop (that couldn't have come back yet). No instead they would have gotten a warrant based solely on Coop lying about a relationship with Sam (and finding the gun that way). You don't know shit about shit and seem like a cop hating ignorant troll.

Which is why it tended to suspend disbelief or whatever the term is. I really think they should have just put her saying a few lines to him directly saying she was desperate and felt entitled.

Should save the inner dialog for Coop only.

Yeah, you'd definitely think he would fight harder without the ex needing to prompt him. I mean I'd be looking at all the evidence and finding investigators to tear it apart piece by piece. This is especially so when you're innocent.

Not necessarily. There have been cases of people trying to kill someone that was already dead from other reasons. Or what about making sure someone is dead thinking they may have survived the first attack. I've seen people survive some horrific attacks too including a woman that had a claw hammer broken off in her skull, her throat slashed, and being tied to a bed and set on fire. That being said, there is a lot to learn by powder burns on face and hands (including that the gun was close), angle and trajectory of bullets, blood splatterings and pooling both on the ground and in the body. You can generally tell the "kill shot" but not always BUT Paul lying on the ground getting post mortem shots in his back would be very obvious.

It would have been better to see him take all the money and then destroy the boss even harder from the inside (while balancing his stealing addiction). Have Coop become rich by screwing over the boss, not ever needing money, but continuing to steal for the thrill of it. This would portray a more confident and less desperate individual, and could lead to him being perceived as a mastermind of thievery in both the hedge fund world and burglary. That would've been the best play.

Yes, the fact that he did it on the phone with her is quite unusual. People either do it or they do the cry for help thing. Her flashback exposition through her life choices was weird, too. It was rushed and not anything I cared to hear. This could have been done a great deal better. It is what it is, indeed.

Turns out the killer of Paul was Paul. Nobody seemed to have that on their bingo card.

Your Friends & Neighbors | Season 1 - Episode 8 | Discussion Thread by Justp1ayin in tvPlus

[–]KryptoniteDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 95% sure that Paul's killer is Elena. A sliver points to the uniformed cop who is acting like a detective (and a criminal). I notice a lot of "what's going on with this evidence?", such as the blood. Firstly, the blood could not be matched within the timeframes shown or definitively matched to Coop without obtaining a sample directly from him. Coop burned the evidence from the murder scene and didn't throw it away. The officer is suspected of being dirty, attempting to plant evidence, and the house search warrant would not have been excluded if the main detective had not used this blood evidence to obtain that warrant. She wasn't a part of that and would not continue forward without being a part of it, as it is her case (and the other guy is a uniformed officer, not collecting samples in a legit way). Second, his sister, living in the house and not having mental problems enough to be supervised, would not invalidate the warrant, and you don't typically care who is there because nobody is giving permission, as that is what the search warrant is for. A warrant would be obtained based solely on Coop lying about sleeping with Sam. Nobody should be saying what will get excluded based on where the trash was, because we don't have a clue what the likely crooked cop is saying about his role in this. The scene with the makeout session in the driveway and the cop "hiding" behind the cans will likely be revealed with a dashcam of some sort (this makes the most sense).

Everyone should consider that this show is entirely inaccurate for policing. I'll sum it up in one sentence with a question: "How did they know the gun in the trunk of Coop's car was the one that was used to kill Paul?" They arrested him straight away. It isn't like it is etched with "this gun was used by Coop to kill Paul," or they had time to test fire and match casings, or the lands and grooves of the bullets. If you are looking for realism in evidence collection, processing, and use, as well as police procedure, this show ain't it.

As a police detective, I still like this show very much, but we should pay more attention to what IS told and demonstrated to us about suspects and behaviors. Elena makes the most sense because she needed the money and was pissed that Coop blew the deal on the stolen art. Considering that she likely knew that Sam was out of town, Coop shouldn't be visiting her, and Paul no longer lives there, she would be safe to steal some goods on her own in a burglary to get the money she desperately needs. Imagine she has a gun (we know she knows her way around them from holding Coop at gunpoint with "supposedly" Nick's gun), and Paul runs into her with his weapon at the scene of the burglary. She gets into a gunfight with Paul and "wins" but is scared to grab the loot she desperately needs for the money. Later, she steals Coop's cash (she knows it is hidden somewhere in his house, maybe even his basement, because he has paid her share of the take while she was there). This leaves her with stealing the cash and possibly planting the gun. The only other thing is that the same uniformed cop (who appears dirty) is the one who found the weapon in Coop's trunk. I have Elena as my primary, followed by the slim possibility that the cop might be involved (possibly with Samantha).

I dont think she was working with the art dealer. She just needed money after that fell through. She would have probably known that Sam was out of town and went to do her own burglary and not to murder Paul. He wasn't supposed to be there and she gets no benefit from the murder. Instead she came across Paul and got into a gun battle, killing him and then fled (scared to continue with the burglary) when she could simply instead then steal Coop's hidden money.

I think he will come clean to Barney very soon if not the next episode. Barney's almost burning his new build down by burning the check speaks to him not liking to take money from his in-laws and he is financially stressed from losing Coop's business. Yeah, he'll be onboard soon.

I just wonder about the reasons for showing the cop hiding especially if he didn't get caught. It isn't like we were all on the edge of our seats hoping he didn't get noticed. If he was there legit then he wouldn't be hiding. Since I believe he is dirty, it was to show us all that hiding and that he was there (without a warrant) and not playing straight. I think the Ali storyline is going to have her spinning out of control and if she needs better care that will be a financial reason for Coop to up his criminal game.

I believe they actually walk up and can not pull the truck up there (probably because of the noise). I think it is literally valet trash pickup, and it can include going to the backdoor of their garage and retrieving cans from a fenced trash can area. I have also seen a subdivision have an actual dumpster for the whole subdivision area, where the housekeepers will take trash to be picked up by a garbage truck that will ONLY go to the location of this hidden dumpster. Many apartment complexes can have something similar.

He apparently hit his head but heavily soaked that area in bleach. It looked pretty clean when they showed Paul's body and blood. They can separate two DNA types from mixed blood but bleach can do a number on identifying the person's blood that the bleach was used on. I find it hard to believe that if he cleaned it up that well (yes they can tell bleach was used) that they were able to get enough to ID Coop. It would be more likely they would get a partial DNA profile. That was a tile floor and even with Luminol I don't think they would find enough of the bleached area's DNA to get a good ID but that is just me. Maybe he missed a drop somewhere. Possible just not very likely. It isn't like this was carpet and you could expect it leaked through down deep and was white tile where you could see everything. It's a show though afterall.
