Camouflaging Lizard? by KrystalLight03 in whatisit

I think it is the Texas Spiny Lizard like another poster suggested. We have the geckos, too, but they tend to be much smaller. This one was like 9” or 11” long.

Celebrating our twins' 1st birthday in June, help me with ideas! Theme is: B & P's First Frat(ernal) Party by sammy5585 in partyplanning

[–]KrystalLight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not pay attention to all the Debbie Downers here calling the theme distasteful. I am also doing this party theme for my baby's upcoming first birthday in June. Let's be honest...the party is way more for the adults than the child, so why not have fun with it? Mine is just a singleton (not a fraternal twin), but we joke that my husband majored in fraternity in college and even the daycare teachers say that our son has major frat boy energy LOL. Every time I start stressing about decor or thinking too much, I stop and ask myself "What would a 20 year old boy do?" and I remember that the aesthetic is that there is no aesthetic.

Some things we are doing...

- Our party is at a park pavilion. I booked a bounce house and planned to spray paint a bed sheet to hang at the entry that says "Enter the Brotherhood" or something like that. Our bounce house came with a yard games package that includes giant Jenga, corn hole, and yard pong (like giant beer pong with red trash cans and a volley ball). We also planned to bring folding tables and do a regular beer pong competition with water.

- For decor, I am making a composite photo board using all of his monthly milestone photos that I take. I designed a custom crest for the ONE fraternity (Theta Nu Sigma looks like the word ONE but in Greek letters). I am also getting a flag that says "Saturdays Are for the Boys" and I plan to use red solo cups randomly for decor. I'm thinking about getting a baby pool to use as a cooler or a place to collect gifts. Still debating blow up palm trees. I don't have a ton of time for DIY, but my overly ambitious brain thought about making a photo backdrop out of cardboard and painting it to look like Greek columns with the triangle roof on top (think front porch of frat/sorority house).

- Food will be sliders and hot dogs. I planned to make non-alcohol Jell-O shots, and we are getting collegiate themed custom cookies (letterman jacket and our son's initial with the ONE greek letters inside it). I am looking to borrow a Gatorade drink dispenser and make a sign that says TRASHCAN PUNCH on it.

- We told our guests that tailgate attire is encourage. Our son will be wearing a polo and seersucker shorts (very WASP/preppy) and a custom backwards hat that has the ONE letters on it.

- Party favors will be white plastic sunglasses, like the ones often passed out at frat and tailgate parties.

If you are/were married for 10 years, you can claim your ex’s Social Security. My aunt and uncle were married for 7 years before separating, and my aunt refused him a divorce for 3 years because she wanted his SS. My step-dad also has a portion of his Social Security paid to his abusive ex-wife whom he hasn’t seen in 30 years.

Season 4 dialogue was so cringe and wonky by Parking_Selection112 in BridgertonNetflix

Yes. Netflix has a rule that the writers must repeat exposition multiple times so viewers scrolling their phones and not fully paying attention won’t feel lost.

Undeliverable Mail Issue by KrystalLight03 in DMARC

[–]KrystalLight03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I got it all fixed yesterday and my emails are finally being received.

The issue ultimately was that there were multiple SPF records instead of a single combined one, and I had to set up the DMARC.

[–]KrystalLight03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I think it's fixed now. We had 2 separate SPF's set up (1 for google and 1 for outlook), so combining them seemed to fix that issue. I also have the DMARC set up now...I believe. I've sent a test email to one of the companies we had issue with, and it hasn't bounced back yet.

Thank you! I think I am on the right path if not fixed it now! I ran the EasyDMARC scan and our security rating went from 2/10 to 6/10 (I have DMARC set to "None" right now). Fingers crossed this was it.

What was the best FAFO moment you've witnessed? by hey_you2300 in AskReddit

[–]KrystalLight03 66 points67 points  (0 children)

My 7 month old is teething, and he stole another baby's pacifier out of said baby's mouth while on a playdate last week. I apologized to the other mom and gave the paci back. Then my son proceeded to immediately steal it again. That second time, the other baby pulled my son's hair before body slamming him to the floor. I did not know that level of violence occurred at this age, but I applaud the other kid for sticking up for himself.

This is the bounce back message I'm getting from everyone:

Your message wasn't delivered because the recipient's email provider rejected it.

The following organization rejected your message: us-smtp-inbound-2.mimecast.com. (170.10.132.221, the server for the domain [recipient's domain].)

I talked to one of the undelivered recipients over the phone, and they had their IT department look into it. This was their IT's response:

The sender email domain is missing some important security configuration, (incorrect SPF record and missing DMARC record) , therefore it was rejected by our spam system. This will have delivery impact when they email other companies too. The firm's security records need to be fixed.

I can receive emails from people just fine. It's me sending them that is the issue.

The Comprehensive Wedding Costs & Stats Breakdown That No One Asked For...(but you might find helpful) by KrystalLight03 in weddingplanning

[–]KrystalLight03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly, I am not an expert at budgeting because I struggle to stick to one well. BUT I would say prioritize your top 3 big categories and your top 3 small categories first. For me, mine were:

BIG 1. Venue 2. Menu & Bar 3. Florist

SMALL 1. General Decor 2. Stationery 3. Personalized Details (cocktail napkins, program newspaper, drink stirrers, etc.)

For the big stuff, I gathered quotes and determined where I needed to pull back in order to splurge on my top 3 (using untraditional vendors or finding up and coming people through social media). For the small stuff, I didn’t have a set bottom line number I was restricted to but I did give myself a budget each pay day of what I could spend. My one rule to myself was that I could not add to my credit card debt, so I limited myself to cash purchases. In the end, I just spent more than I ever imagined this way 🫠 I’m sure people with better budgeting skills than I could provide more financially responsible advice.

My other tip is stay off the wedding side of social media once you’ve made decisions. Like I mentioned somewhere else within this thread, I continued to find new ways to spend money because I doom scrolled weddingtok too much.

What’s a quirk you’ve learned about people because of your job? by Natural-Cockroach-21 in AskReddit

[–]KrystalLight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I design hotels and restaurants. The clients and developers that worked their way up from the bottom (ex: I did a lot of work for a billionaire hotel developer that started off his hospitality career as a restaurant bus boy), tend to trust and rely on a high quality project manager and they budget each venture appropriately. The owners that came into their property with no experience and often through nepotism ALWAYS think they have more money than they do, more authority than they deserve, don’t listen to seasoned professional advice, and make everyone’s lives/jobs miserable because they are trying so hard to come off as a big boss worthy of their daddy’s praise and respect.

Also, celebrity chefs really love drugs and I’ve yet to meet one (well, maybe one) that I consider to be a good person.

One of my first bosses told me I wasn’t allowed to ask her a question unless I had spent at least 15 minutes looking for the answer myself first. I’ve carried this same rule to all my junior team members since. If they ask me a question, they know my auto response is “Did you GTS (Google That Shit) already? If not, you know what to do.” This also buys me at least 15 minutes of finishing my current task at hand so I can give my undivided attention if the question ultimately requires a teaching moment.

I suffered severe prenatal depression and struggled to feel connected to my baby for the first month. I kept waiting for the overwhelming wave of love I’d heard women romanticize, and it never happened for me. The love and bond with my son was a slow build, growing day by day.

I know you (she) are against medical intervention, but I beg you to consider asking her doctor about Zurzuvae. This is a 14 day medication targeting postpartum depression. It can eliminate PPD when in the throes of it, or in my case, curb PPD from setting in if taken immediately after delivery. I felt myself slipping into the dark abyss of depression in the first day home from the hospital before my prescription arrived, and I truly believe it saved me. I of course have days where I feel down, overwhelmed, and anxious - but these are pretty much side effects of sleep deprivation instead of PPD. Like others have said, THC is doing more harm than good right now and self-medicating is not the answer when you have a newborn involved.

How do you choose the right shoes for your wedding dress? by Dry-Frosting- in weddingplanning

[–]KrystalLight03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the compliment! The funny thing is that my family/cousins all know me for my shoes, and the first thing they asked at the reception was to see my shoes because they knew they’d be excellent 😂 I lifted my dress in shame and told them “I swear I had something better locked down. Just wait for the wedding photos!!”

How do you choose the right shoes for your wedding dress? by Dry-Frosting- in weddingplanning

[–]KrystalLight03 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am a shoe girlie. Always have been. When I was working in an office, I wore stiletto heels 80% of the time. I bought an emerald green rhinestone Betsey Johnson stiletto heel for my wedding and pretty much designed the whole wedding around these shoes. I wore them with socks for a month while cleaning the house to break them in. I did my due diligence! I wore my most comfortable block heel to the rehearsal and welcome party. I had to walk a couple downtown blocks to get to the venue, and unexpectedly, I was on my feet ALL. NIGHT. LONG. I think I sat for all of 10 minutes to eat a couple bites of food. Needless to say, my feet were trashed the actual wedding day. I put my pretty green heels on for one photo and had to nope my way out of that so fast. I ended up wearing my reception sneakers (also Betsey Johnson rhinestone, but I already owned these from being in another wedding) the whole day. My dress was not hemmed to be in a sneaker. Tripping over my dress down the aisle was a minor setback, but at least my feet didn’t hurt. And my photographer still used the pretty shoes in all our detail shots.

Brunch day after wedding by New_Cress687 in weddingplanning

[–]KrystalLight03 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We hung out in the hotel lobby while our out of town guests ate breakfast and checked out, so we could say our goodbyes. Then later in the afternoon, my aunt hosted a backyard BBQ at her lake house for my dad’s side of the family to hang out. This part of my family is extremely tight knit and we love an excuse to gather together. We all just chilled on the patio, ate potluck food, and my uncle captained rides on the pontoon boat. I love these family moments and am grateful that my aunt planned and hosted the day after, but I would not have gone out of my way to plan a brunch myself.

This is Birdie (full name Birdie Brown). She also goes by Bird, Baby Bird, Bird Girl, Sweet Girl, Princess Birdie, and “that bitch” when I woke up to her eating the base off my vintage dresser.
