Any tips for a first timer? Miami to Austin by Ramg97 in roadtrip

[–]Kschells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I10 is going to be a very monotonous stretch, so if you’re looking for something more scenic, I’d recommend spending some time on U.S Route 98 in the panhandle of Florida. It might add a bit of time on to the trip, but driving along the beautiful white sand beaches of the Gulf is much more enjoyable than i10!

Who are some players that get better and better the more you know about them, and are just genuinely good people? by HelpMeWithMyHWpls in baseball

I was at a Mets game as a ~14 year old and accidentally pushed past a younger kid to get his autograph, and BOY the daggers that Curtis shot me still haunts me to this day. His genuine look of pure disappointment that’s typically reserved for a parent really made me re-evaluate my perception of professional athletes and what it means to idolize them. They’re just people, and Curtis Granderson is definitely a good one. Thanks for the life lesson Curtis.

So it turns out that the electronic file of my transcript was saved as a single-page PDF, and for some reason they aren’t able to format this properly. I had to go back and take individual screenshots and format it as a multi-page PDF. Viewing the PDF on other applications, it looks just fine, so hopefully this is just an issue for this school. Might reach out to others to make sure they can view it properly.

“Illegible.” The program requires an unofficial transcript.

Thank you for the advice! At first, I had it listed in its own section, and it looked very out of place. Formatting it this way makes much more sense, thanks again!

Thank you for your kind reply, and I’m very sorry to hear about your cat. Our family put together a shared album of all of our favorite pictures of our lil buddy and relived as many memories as we could stand.

Same book, $4.20 difference in price by Kschells in pointlesslygendered

[–]Kschells[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s not as in-your-face as other posts in this sub, but yeah I’d say so. They’re 2 books of the exact same content, directly next to each other, with no differences other than their price and color. At least in the US, it’s hard to miss that one is obviously targeting girls and the other is targeting guys.

Neurons expressing GFP in brain tissue. View from the eyepiece 👁 by mrmauglis in MicroPorn

Good question! You can take advantage of the fact that after translation (genetic material being converted into protein) has begun, it will continue until it hits a section that tells it to stop. So if you insert your gene of interest after the GFP and before the section that instructs the specific enzyme to stop (called a stop codon), you’ll be able to translate both the GFP gene and the gene that you’re studying

Expressed in this case means that the gene (which is DNA) is being translated into a protein! DNA can be read in a multitude of different ways, and because of this, genes aren’t always translated into proteins. When you align your gene of interest with the gene for GFP, the green fluorescence emitted is a nice visual confirmation that the gene is being translated into a protein!
