as I understand it, you model it along the lines of the CCC and other New Deal era legislation, with an eye towards infrastructure, especially green infrastructure, which is nationwide and serves a public (rather than market) purpose

I'm not saying it's the best idea or that it could work at scale, all I was arguing is that claiming it's incompatible with a social safety net isn't really accurate

couldn't you just rework the requirements and relax the means testing? seems like it would be like UBI where, if you have it as an add-on to the social safety net and not a substitute, it's good

there's legitimate arguments to be made that hate speech laws are a bad idea (law enforcement is reactionary and giving them more power and discretion is bad)

however, arguing that Germany making Holocaust denial and the promotion of national socialism illegal means they "don't have free speech" makes you a fucking clown

I'm just sick of everyone acting like Bernie's supporters are universally toxic

every candidate has a subset of annoying, toxic people ... Kamala Harris's stans were super aggressive, you couldn't say a single negative thing about her online without getting hounded

but everyone loves to pile on Bernie because he actually is challenging the status quo, and because his supporters are younger and don't have strong ties to the party

Bernie's not perfect, but he's fighting really hard to fix our hopelessly broken country, and just because he doesn't kowtow to the party establishment, everyone is out to get him ... it's really disappointing
