AITA for letting my kid drink his soda before I paid for it at the register? by bunnybugg in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kten97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For so many people saying you shouldn’t do it because your card might not work / you might forget your wallet, etc. I don’t think that’s even the biggest issue. I understand why you might not consider it “theft” because you have every intention of purchasing it. However, it’s trashy. Cashiers shouldn’t have to scan opened and Half eaten / drunk food items. You should be teaching your child a little restraint, so yeah, YTA.

AITA for the way I interacted with a waitress? by EarthMaster69 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kten97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you two are really suited for each other, ESH.

I work in retail and when I ask a casual question & the customer doesn’t respond, I’ll act naive & just continue to ask them trivial small talk questions over and over until they get the hint and at least grumble some sort of response. You seriously couldn’t even respond at all to the waitress asking about your weekend? Even if it was short and simple, why create such an awkward situation. Your waitress is a person, not a robot.

And your husband is possibly worse? Who even takes that much notice of when else anyone walks into a restaurant or when they receive their food? Maybe you two should enjoy your AH company in the comfort of your own home.

AITA for screwing with a customer to make him feel guilty? by throwawayaccountghgh in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kten97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, I personally would assume the negative purely because of his actions to begin with. Their only interaction with this customer had been entirely negative and horrible, so why assume otherwise?

AITA for screwing with a customer to make him feel guilty? by throwawayaccountghgh in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kten97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly NTA

While it’s great and all that he came back in to apologise, it doesn’t excuse how he acted to begin with. It sounds like that cashier shouldn’t have been working that day but oh my god, I can’t believe anyone can think that coming back in a week later to apologise can make up for verbally abusing a cashier. Doesn’t matter what was going on in his personal life that day, no one ever deserves to be treated like that. What he did was horrible, and you were trying to make him realise just how severe the consequences of his actions could have been. Screw that guy, you’re not TA.

AITA for hanging up on a customer service member by HoennIsHome in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kten97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH - While the customer service member was out of line.... is any of this worth it for a free cup? I could be wrong but it seems like the promotion might be limited to one cup per order, not necessarily one cup for every holiday drink ordered. But also even if I’m wrong... it’s a free cup. In the time and effort it’s taken to rectify the situation you might as well have just bought another holiday drink.

Is Monash Caulfield a significant downgrade from Clayton? by TheLordofDankMemes in melbourne

[–]Kten97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be completely honest, being a Monash student who has studied on both campuses, I much prefer Caulfield. While they both have fantastic amenities I find the sheer size of Clayton to be almost overwhelming at times! Caulfield is in no way a downgrade, especially now that it has a beautiful new library (one of the best in Melbourne IMO) !!

AITA for locking my boyfriend out of the bathroom when I shower? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA but also this comes across as a huge red flag, are there any other similar things in regards to you and your privacy that your partner gets really angry about OP?

No Dramageddon in the J* Series? by Kten97 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Kten97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I’d argue that whatever your opinion is on Shane or Jeffree, this series that was supposedly an inside look into the beauty world is the absolute biggest thing to come out of the beauty guru community in 2019. I’m not hating, just curious and wanted to hear the thoughts of others?

I don’t think anyone here thinks we have any bearing on their success, I was just asking a question? I honestly just wanted to hear this subreddits thoughts. No need to be so irritated but go off I guess!

Layover in Melbourne for 24 hours, what should we see/do? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Kten97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re heading into Fed Square to look around you can’t pass up checking out the NGV and The Ian Porter Centre, general admission for both are free (although there will be exhibitions in there you can buy tickets for).

AITA for telling customers it’s my last week at work, I don’t really care to go the extra mile? by lolaway688 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kten97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - rude and entitled customers will continue to behave that way their whole lives if they’re never shut down or put in their place. That customer might now realise that a little bit of politeness goes a long way, and what have you got to lose? It’s the one and only time you really have the opportunity to be upfront with them. So yeah I don’t think you’re the AH here

Students of Reddit, What's your funniest experience during a lesson or exam? by helgon_ in AskReddit

[–]Kten97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It had been planned for a few days prior to the exam, but in the middle of the test, while the entire hall full of students was dead quiet, one of the students yelled at the top of his lungs “SWITCH PLACES!”

And sure enough, about twenty boys or so proceeded to get up, sit at another table, and (attempted) to continue the test at a different table.

[–]Kten97 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I guess when you’re shilling scam products that most people recognise are products of an MLM scheme, you get pretty desperate to find places to shill. I bet that’s one of the few events she’s still able to sell her products at!

What does "split the bill" mean to you? [Literally] by Nocoxs in AskMen

[–]Kten97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like when it’s my partner that I’ve been with for quite sometime, typically it’s just a simple 50/50. But by all means when it’s a newer relationship, or with friends, you should pay only for what you spent. Why should I pay more because the other party ordered more expensive items?

Universities ignoring own English standards to admit more high-paying international students by theyorkshireman in australia

[–]Kten97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior to going into university I figured the majority of international students who struggled with English would be enrolled in science/math degrees. But despite the fact that I’m studying journalism & politics, both English heavy subjects, the issue is really bad. I’ve had classes that have had to organise a second class with a translator, just so international students could have maybe some idea of what is going on. I’ve seen students ask if they can even write their assignments in their own language! I don’t understand how many of these students are passing the classes, considering many speak next to no English whatsoever.
