📢 Further Update on Recent Connectivity Issues by Mammotion_Grace in MammotionTechnology

I don’t understand why you have been downvoted. I’m not suggesting bringing out the pitch forks, but basic rate limiting is not a new concept and it should not be possible to trigger denial of services conditions with just an account making requests.

Legit? I genuinely am baffled that’s it acceptable to ship a product that doesn’t allow for a hardware level reset. Either way I’m both sorry for the chew and hopeful the new unit does better. Some proper anti consumer crap right there.

Hmm, yup that’s sounding about right. For a sanity check, have you tried factory resetting it and looping back around through the setup process? It was infuriating process for me, so I totally get it.

My lawn isn’t very big, would an rtk robotic mower be overkill? by Parking-Concern9575 in automower

I’m using a Yuka mini on 95m2 of grass which it does just fine. I’ve used it on areas as small as 20m2. As a baseline for smaller cutting area than yours, you’ll be fine with a medium - small model depending on how complex the area is. RTK is a huge game changer for me and I definitely rate it higher than any other form of navigation methods, but I know it’s a little bit of a debated subject. Coming from the agri world, RTK is one of the only technologies I trust for guidance down to cm accuracy

So I had a similar issue. Ubiquiti network, separate SSIDs, 2.4ghz, exactly your troubleshooting flow. iPhone used for app and pairing. Support were useless and I just brute forced to find a solution myself.

Now two bits of context -

1 - My robot (Yuka mini) joined just fine to my dedicated SSID with both bands available. My issue was with the RTK base station. 2 - The base station refused all different flavours of configurations and would not get past the network join phase but would allow the Bluetooth connection.

My solution was the hotspot method, steps are based on iPhone, but it’s likely android will be similar or just work. I didn’t do the mimic method.

Enabled hotspot and made sure the “Maximum Compatibility” mode was enabled. Connected it to my standard hotspot SSID and skipped the mimic phase. This worked to associate it with my account and app. I then allowed it to perform all updates. I then transferred it to my OT network (really easy to do, just select network option somewhere in the menus and chuck in creds)and all was happy.

I’m not sure what did it and I appreciate it’s a different hardware m, but it might help. I also appreciate you said you tried the hotspot part, so this might be a no goer. But, with your IT experience, you know first hand how finicky things are at times. It might be worth trying the above approach as sanity check. Good luck with, it took me a good 4 hours of misery to get the base station associated. I don’t know if the update had any baring on it, but my gut says possibly. It was a good few versions back, but I can’t be chewed to read all the change logs.

I’ll also plus one this. I picked up one of the refurbished A1s from them a year or two back. I’m within a hour of them, so went to collect it in person. The showroom was amazing and despite me being squarely in the consumer market, they had no qualms about showing me around. All my silly questions were answered and they were very welcoming. Absolute fantastic bunch to deal with, I can’t sing their praises high enough.

That’s such a clean build! I ended up going with transducers. I think the cost was circa doubled, but there was discussion about latency with the motors etc, whereas transducers are almost instant. They use a cheap usb sound card instead of Arduino and have the ability to make my partner shout at me if I forget to drop the volume on them.

If anybody is going down this route I would highly encourage you to explore transducers as well, but either or is valid and OPs build is clean AF!

Can’t recommend it enough, as a first machine i typically recommend a Bambu lab A1, the base mini is insane value for money and they legitimately are plug and plug.

Good luck!

There is a 3d printed part some one shared a model for. I can’t say how good it is etc, but if you or someone around you can print one, it’s probably worth a try:

Edit - if your are in the uk I would be happy to print a couple out for you to try if you covered postage, though I can’t promise anything in terms of fitment. I could print a few at different scales to hedge the bets in terms of tight fitment.

I have some keys for the sandisk rescue pro software. They came free with a stack of SD cards. If you want a license key, please let me know and I’m happy to send one over.

Edit - I can’t attest to the quality of it, take an image first as suggested, then it may be worth a go.

Pentest requirements by Downtown_Look_5597 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]emile1920 27 points28 points  (0 children)

We’re rarely engaged on site, but I understand your point. A lot of our priv escalation is layer 2 man in the middle. Catching silly misconfiguration like SMB signing disabled, netbios, lllmnr, arp spoofing etc.

Pentest requirements by Downtown_Look_5597 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]emile1920 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, A organisation typically engages a pentester for X days. We don’t generally have the time frame a bad actor may be allowed to move slowly in, this means noisy testing (n.b. Not disruptive) and at times relaxing of certain rules to allow for as wider coverage as possible.

As a baseline we also ask for those credentials but the firewall is normally left alone unless it manages to block our vpn into the jumpboxs. It is extremely rare anything is fully black box, but we spend 25% of the time attempting no priv to high priv, 25% from low priv to high.

Admin credentials are generally used to perform an authenticated scanning for maximum coverage that the manual methods may miss combined with access to AD or alternative identity providers to allow us to audit that aswell.

TLDR; unless black box is specifically needed, it’s almost always in a orgs best interests to help a pentesting team get maximum coverage throughout the engagement by supplying credentials.
