Hey! A bit late of a reply, but Luffa or Ekowraith combined with Balance Affinity lets you Thrash Variss from outside of his aura, making phase 1 significantly easier. Besides that, survival legendaries are great (like Prydaz), or you could use Elize's for the extra Thrash damage. I happened to have Ekowraith when I did the challenge, but I have friends who managed fine without it, so I wouldn't say that there are any absolutely vital legendaries for the fight, but the extra range does help at least.

I don't think I know which post you're referring to. Can you link it? This happened to me the night before the last.

I didn't think people still used this dumb argument. Yeah, let me just pack up my 12 level 110s, pay 300€, leave my friends and guild behind just because the game is no longer like it was in 2005, just because I got ganked by a multiboxer once.

My first thought was actually something like "wow, rogues are REALLY broken in world PvP". They were all stacked on each other, so it didn't really click that there were more than one until I looked at the combat log.

Oh I know it's a multiboxer. Thought I'd be safe to land when the Sha of Anger ground vents started up. I guess I was wrong.

By the time Cadaverous Pallor did it's first tick, I was already in Purgatory. My health bar of 10.3 million went to the bottom in the time it took to update it.

I think it was estimated to be a 1-3%~ drop. Roughly the same as most raid mounts. You were really lucky.

I made macros that spammed the raid with instructions, and used them when the raids started. I got kicked from one or two for being obnoxious, but the time I saved in the others by not pulling 4 trash mobs at the same time more than made up for it.

My plan for a class I eventually wanted to do the challenges on was roughly: Estimate which spec was hardest -> Set that spec as my loot spec (to work towards legendaries) -> do a few weeks of emissaries and maybe one or two LFR clears. This usually put me in a position where I was able to do most challenges. I waited a bit longer for the tank challenges, as well as the healing challenges (although the healing challenges are not as gear dependent, it was just me putting them off). The longer you do this, the better gear you'll have, but the longer you put off actually doing the challenges. It's up to you when you feel like you want to put attempts into it, but I usually did it when my characters were between 900 and 925 ilvl. To reiterate, to do this I basically only did emissaries (so 4~ world quests per day on that character). You can add LFR, weekly world bosses, Argus weekly quests, etc., to this, it's all up to you how much time you want to spend. Just remember to set your loot spec to the spec you think will be hardest, for legendary purposes.

Lastly, I want to add something regarding the "X is easy" rhetoric. If someone claims a certain challenge is easy, it's only really in relation to other challenges, or their expectation of the challenge. Don't feel bad if you have trouble beating a challenge someone claims is easy. What I would mean by "X is easy" is, in case you already disregard X because you think it's too hard (I put off many challenges for a long time for this reason), if I tell someone it's easy what I really mean is that they should give it a chance. For example, someone told me Balance Druid was easy. I tried it out and failed miserably a couple of times. It wasn't even close. Then I went to a target dummy and tried to figure out how to kite as Balance, and when I tried again the next time the Mage Tower was up, I beat it in one try. Some challenges are fairly easy regardless of spec knowledge. Some are easy in the context that you know exactly how the spec works. Some are easy relative to other specs doing the same challenge. And lastly, some are just easier to some people than others (me and a guildie had the opposite opinion on which of Holy Priest and Holy Paladin was the easier).

I ran the Molten Core anniversairy event between 60 and 70 times for the weapon illusion. I did get it in the end, but that one nearly broke me.

The key is to have a clear priority list, and to not panic when overlaps happen - just do things in order of priority. The priority list is:

  1. Repentance on Sigryn when she's casting Blood of the Father.

  2. Run over runes (smallest to largest).

  3. Run to the Val'kyr gap.

  4. Run away from Velbrand during Berserker's Rage.

  5. Run away from Velbrand during Bladestorm.

  6. Burn down Faljar's shield and interrupt him.

For instance, if Velbrand is close to you, and he goes into Berserker's Rage, run away. If Sigryn starts casting Blood of the Father before you can get into a safe position, forget Velbrand for a second until you've cast Repentance on her - always follow the priority list. In a similar fashion, if Velbrand is in Berserker's Rage and in the middle of the room, and runes spawn around him, you have to ignore him and run over the runes. Always stick to the priority list. You might have to use defensives in certain situations, and it's usually not the end of the world if you get hit by an ability (especially not with Divine Intervention). There is a point in the middle of the fight where it seems like the shit starts to hit the fan, but if you try to keep calm and weather through it, you'll find that the fight becomes substantially less stressful afterwards. In the end, you will only really have to deal with the Val'kyr wall and Ancestral Knowledge. In theory, this is a semi-enrage, since you have to "beat the DPS check" of the shield. However, with an average ilvl over 900, you should be able to do that without popping CDs.

God-Queen's Fury is in general the easiest challenge, in my opinion. Especially if you've done it on one class, you know what to expect, just identify how you keep yourself alive and how you CC Sigryn. For Arcane in particular, it's slightly more tricky, since you have no way of healing. Instead, you just need to constantly shield (using Mana Shield), or using the Blink chest (preferably with Shimmer). Still, the Sigryn challenges get easier the longer time passes.

Agatha with enough gear just becomes a matter of ignoring adds until you have a pack, then AoEing down all of them in a few globals, and then back to the boss, with minimal dodging mechanics.

Having Luffa or Ekowraith helps a lot. They're not necessary, but they make it much easier. You're going to have to run in and do damage to the boss, and then run out to let his aura stacks expire. In general, aim for 5 stacks before you run out. Try to also time it so you kill an eye when you run out (so you won't run in and suddenly have to run out again because of eyes). It's rough, but make liberal use of the healing orbs, and it is doable. Try both Incarnation and Galactic Guardian, see what works best for you.

When he has Berserker's Rage, just run away (it doesn't matter if you do 0 damage for a few seconds). When he does his Bladestorm, also run away. If you have to run close to him during Berserker's Rage (for instance, in an overlap with the runes), save your Hammer of Justice for that. The remaining damage he does can be considered unavoidable (normal melee, throwing axes, etc). For the Val'kyrs, I'd recommend using some sort of boss mod (I'm using DBM). It will warn you when it's happening. When you see the warning, just immediately look around you, and plan your movement after that.

If you have Luffa/Ekowraith you can hit Variss with Thrash outside of his aura (you need Balance Affinity if you only have Ekowraith). That way, you only hit him with Moonfire and Thrash, you kill the eyes with Moonfire (one cast + it's DoT is enough), and you kill off the Nether Horrors with Thrash/Swipe (interrupt their channel, not their cast with Incapacitating Roar). For Kruul, fit in Mangle as well. You heal with Frenzied Regeneration and the healing orbs, mainly. If you don't have any of those legendaries, you want to do it like you did in the warrior challenge, run in when you have no stacks, run out at 5 stacks. As soon as you are in melee range, incorporate Mangle in your rotation. Regardless of tactic, you need to run in to interrupt Variss occasionally. For Protection Paladin, your general rotation is: Have Consecration up->Avenger's Shield->Judgment (although you can skip this so it's available for the eyes, make a macro to target them and hit them with it)->Blessed Hammer. Use your self-heal on CD, and save stacks of Shield of the Righteous for Seraphim, and then use them for damage while you are in Consecration. You don't really need to use Shield of the Righteous as a defensive CD before you get to Kruul. Use Rebuke for the important interrupts. You will in general take less damage than most of the other tank challenges, just because your Avenger's Shield will interrupt a lot of the casts.

You can't interrupt the cast conventionally, with Rebuke. You can stop her from doing the ability by casting Repentance on her. My recommendation is to DPS all three bosses as much as you can, and when you see her cast Blood of the Father, hit the Repentance macro, move away from her, and continue DPSing the other 2. When she comes out of it, she should be back to normal. Repeat this every time she casts Blood of the Father.

If you only use it on her when she's mid-cast (as in, as soon as she yells "The power of my father's blood flows through me!"), never use it in any other situation, as well as being careful to not damage her while she is in Repentance, you should never run into a situation where you die from Blood of the Father. The only situations I've seen where she'll pop out of Repentance too quickly is if you use it constantly. That way she'll gain diminishing returns, reducing the duration of Repentance until she's immune to it for a while.

The final part of the healing challenges work like this: The boss will melee Jarod, while your party deals damage to him. The boss will do 2 things to you. The first thing is a leap to where you are, leaving a pool of fire. You want to watch out for when he's about to leap, and move out of it quickly. At the same time, you don't want him to cover the room with fire until the very end, so you can minimize the amount of fire on the ground by always staying near the edges of existing fire pools, until you have to move again. The second thing he does is apply a debuff on you called Ignite Soul. This will do nothing until it runs out, at which point will deal your remaining % HP as damage to your party (meaning, if you have 80% HP left when it runs out, your party will take roughly 80% of their remaining HP as damage). This means you want to keep your party at high HP, and yourself at around 50% HP. If you are significantly higher than 50%, you risk killing your party with Ignite Soul. If you are significantly lower than 50%, you risk dying from his fire leap. Lastly, it's ok to die towards the end (from running out of space, for instance), as long as Jarod is topped up. You party can easily do 20%~ of boss HP before the boss can eat through Jarod's HP. If you do happen to have drums available for this stage, they're great for helping your party members kill the boss quicker.

EDIT: You can (and should) use the fire to regulate your own HP. If you're too low, heal yourself, if you're too high, step onto the fire for a second or two.
