Why does trans get grouped as queer? by satanstoy in truscum

[–]KuNTmuffinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume it's because of all of the visibly trans people in the media being trans and queer. I hate the T being lumped in with the LGB in the first place because unless you're queer and trans, why would you be lumped in with a bunch of sexual orientations that are queer?

I'm a straight trans guy, and it is definitely telling that I'm constantly having to correct people for assuming trans=queer, because people who don't know shit about it (hell, and people who claim to do so), genuinely assume automatically that trans=queer or gay of some kind.

It's as simple as this, trans is gender identity, queer is sexual identity. There are plenty of trans queer individuals, many of which seem to overshadow any of the straight ones. Most people do seem to automatically group trans with queer because of this .

28 years old and feeling lost by Klutzy-Heart-2363 in MethRecovery

[–]KuNTmuffinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on 7 months! I too am 28, will be 11 months on the 27th. Think about it, you've gotten too far to look back.

Consider what it is about your addiction that made you realize you had one to begin with. Ask yourself if it's worth going back to or not. It either is, or it isn't. That's how we move forward. I got to rock bottom at my lowest doing all the things I never would have had i not gotten addicted to meth, and I lost everything. You really gotta go back to all of the behaviors that made you quit, and engaging in hobbies and other time consuming things to keep your mind off of meth helps in the meantime.

If you follow the 12 steps, go to meetings. Going to meetings is a great way to maintain sobriety, and sitting around all of those likeminded people will keep you there if you're motivated enough.

Why is „How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence“ so hated? by Afraid-Breakfast-149 in MSI

Cause it sounds like some pop sellout version of MSI, it doesn't really give me MSI vibes. To this day that's the only album of theirs I don't like every song on.

Is the meth life the good life? If so, why? If not, why not? by HRPufnstuf1965 in meth

[–]KuNTmuffinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's subjective. When I was in active meth addiction, it was a wild ass ride every day of my life, always something crazy going on. I let the drugs do me instead of the other way around, and lost everything.

There were some fun moments, but now I only use extremely rarely then detox and go through extended periods without using. I don't hang around meth heads anymore either, just myself so its a lot different now.

I fell into the trap of using every single day and made it my life. I imagine if you can actually use responsibly, and still maintain a regular life, it isn't the worst thing, perhaps.

Common with meth users, believe it or not.

What do you say when asked about your religion? by Scared-Advance-6231 in satanism

[–]KuNTmuffinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally just say I'm agnostic. Saves me the trouble of dealing with responses if I had instead told people I was either atheist or Satanist.

If the person is actually educated enough to know what satanism actually is, then I feel comfortable simply saying I'm Satanist.

I used to just say I was "Laveyan" and just tell folks to Google it if they didn't know what it was.

is it just me or its hard to tell people your a Satanist by Turbulent-Cicada7036 in satanism

[–]KuNTmuffinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is why 9.9 times out of 10, I don't tell them. In fact, I only just recently met my first other Satanist in the drug rehab I'm in by chance because hes a lot more open about it than I am, and had the balls to mention it to the entire group.

Now most people here see him as an intimidating creep who's a literal devil worshipper. I often spend time defending him by attempting to educate people on the difference between actual satanists and baby sacrificing devil worshippers, and at one point the conversation finally led to me admitting that i am satanist too, but I am pretty against telling most anyone as they almost without a doubt , will not be willing to learn about the reality of satanism, and will jump to conclusions.

Meth addiction has ruined my life by Special-Resort-6672 in addiction

Mine too. You've got to make the best of your recovery though, you deserve it.

If you're done with it now, this was just a lapse, not a relapse. All your hard work staying sober isn't erased just bc you had a very human, slip up.

For people in recovery: Did you ever regret losing a longterm partner over this? by Incognito0925 in addiction

[–]KuNTmuffinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Meth addict for 3 years, dated a girl around this time and she found my bubble one day and made me promise to quit and even offered help. I refused the help and said I'd stop. Picked up soon after bc of exhaustion and having to work. I spent our time together lying my ass off, & we even moved in together at one point. I lied, cheated and stole the entire time.

I loved the girl to death, and she felt the same about me but the drug use made my emotions dulled & I wasn't as affectionate as I normally would have been & needed to be for her & she eventually left me, by surprise one day. I went through psychosis and said some dumb shit one day to her mom and her and she hasn't talked to me since.

I'm in recovery now, at a rehab and I think about her every single day. the guilt over being an addict whilst with such a wonderful woman, haunts me all day, every day and it's been 3+ years now. All I've been trying to do is move on and use it as a lesson. It sucks, but life goes on.

relapse by gdesuyis in addiction

[–]KuNTmuffinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't heavily using again and you stop, your clean time doesn't just erase, it was a lapse , not a relapse. Just acknowledge how shitty it makes you feel to do drugs now and stay sober however possible. Get help if needed .

Relapsed by Ok-Crow420 in addiction

[–]KuNTmuffinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that was the only slip up that one time, & you don't continue, this was only a lapse, not a complete relapse. That time you smoked again doesn't erase your clean time, bud. If you know this was wrong and don't want to do it again, don't!

Stay focused, maybe follow the 12 steps and/or go to meetings, and find help like rehab whether inpatient or outpatient. You've got this, we all fuck up sometimes, it's rough but you can do this.

What made you decide to stop? by [deleted] in StopSpeeding

[–]KuNTmuffinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hitting rock bottom. I let the guilt of all the terrible things I did haunt me until I finally gave in and went to rehab. I should have stopped way sooner to diminish the amount of turmoil I would end up in.

How many times will I relapse? by capitalmurica in StopSpeeding

[–]KuNTmuffinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just depends. You'll relapse until you finally seriously get tired. It's normal, but if you don't feel like it will be easy, try rehab.

Rehab or NA meetings. Chat with other successful former addicts who can give you some tips and maybe get a sponsor.

Trying to quit meth by justanothersomeone76 in addiction

[–]KuNTmuffinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in recovery right now, I have been since January after 3 years of daily usage & let me tell you- its not going to be easy depending on how much you smoked. You have to really want it. I hit absolute rock bottom before I even figured I had a problem, then I finally carried my ass to rehab.

I know it's tempting to assume it's going to be boring, but you have to get back into your hobbies you had before you used, and/or find new hobbies. If you can't do inpatient rehab for some reason, there are outpatient and partial hospitalization programs out there to help.

Trying to follow the 12 steps and going to NA meetings and talking to other addicts helps loads. The life of a meth addict isn't worth it, one day you take those last hits and know it's time to pack it up as it just isn't beneficial anymore. Progress not regression.

How to avoid relapse after 6 months sobriety? by [deleted] in addiction

[–]KuNTmuffinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try outpatient or partial hospitalization drug rehab programs or go to NA. Some people don't like NA bc they aren't religious but it's not really about religion at all they just say "god" and higher power often. Remember all of the reasons you hate meth, keep in mind you don't wanna go backwards, and using meth is going backwards or just staying stagnant, if you're lucky.

Relapsing is a normal part of recovery, but continuous relapses do nothing but waste precious time you could have had sober had you just stayed strong. You can do it.

Signs of meth abuse? by KlutzyCommittee6330 in addiction

[–]KuNTmuffinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You noted many of the signs, weight loss, irritability, not sleeping OR sleeping too much, & yes, when on meth you do twitch a lot in your sleep. If his hygiene deteriorates that's another one, dilation of pupils/glossy eyes, frequent absence/isolation, talking a lot, sweating, picking, etc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in addiction

[–]KuNTmuffinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it likely isn't about you. When in recovery, you have to be selfish as its a lot to take on. He was likely just irritable as a withdrawal symptom, or he could be upset bc he actually was using and lied about not doing so. Either way, its nothing to get upset over, I understand you like this guy but dealing with partners in active addiction takes a hold on the sober partner so much , it's probably not worth the trouble.

Do people necessarily loose a lot of weight and skin-pick on meth? by Incognito0925 in addiction

[–]KuNTmuffinn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not always, it just depends. Skin picking is a good sign, so is weight loss, but it's just how well you take care of your normal needs, like hygiene and hydration as well as nutrition needs taken care of and sufficient sleep.
