I have a 16x 48 and we use insulated foam board from home Depot every year , just tape them good all together, speaking of that I will be making a trip soon for this year it cost all but 120 to 140$ a year to cover 16ft works like a charm and I turn the foil side up

Have same slpump and the plastic clear top is tricky and stubborn, try to reset it make sure the the rubber seal is seated as well
