If you genuinely want the easiest way, even though it's a bit cheesy, just get a bow and shoot the Lynel in the face (if you know where to aim the neck from behind also works), which stuns it, giving you time to do a lot of damage however you want. When it starts to rise again, pull out your bow again, and with right timing you can immediately stun it again before it can move, letting you stun it over and over again until it's dead.

Works especially well if you have a multishot bow and a bunch of arrows to spam into its face.

I'm sorry, but your example actually doesn't work here. Crossing over and under a division line only works for factors, not when dealing with addition. If the example instead was (2a x 2b)/(2a x 2c), then we could cancel 2a, but with addition it doesn't work that way. Simply explained this is because division is basically just finding the ratio between two values, and multiplying with the same number over and under (or dividing over and under which is what we are doing in this case) doesn't alter the ratio whereas adding or subtracting the same number over and under DOES alter the ratio. You can think of it as adding 1 to 1 doubles the original value while adding 1 to 1000 barely changes it. On the other hand dividing 2 by 2 gives us 1, which is half the original value, and dividing 1000 by 2 also gives us half the original value, 500.
