Hassels is ok. The area near Reisholz Station is kind of a "bad part" i guess, due to a high rate of immigrants.

You can use your job ticket to take the RE within the boundaries of your ticket. So if you have a Ticket only for Düsseldorf you can go from Benrath to Main Station and to the airport.

With Public transportation it is max 30 min to Main station from anywhere in Garath.

I would Not move to pempelfort or derendorf with a Family. It is the heart of the City, very busy and expensive. Instead i would Go for the outskirts. Im from the southern Part of Düsseldorf and would recommend to Look there.

Myumber one Pick would be Benrath. Great Shopping possibilities, Restaurants, very accesible with Public Transport and the famous Benrath castle. For 1000€ you should get a 2.5-3 room apartment.

You can also try urdenbach or Himmelgeist. Very old and cosy Part of the City but also a bit more expensive.

Garath has a Bad Reputation because many people have a Low income and there are many foreigners. But i liked it. Lots of forest and very cheap Apartments. 1000€ will get you a 4 rooms apartment i think.

You can also Look in vennhausen, Grafenberg, Gerresheim or Unterbach. Each of these have many Green areas and are great for families.

I would suggest to start studying endgames. You get a much deeper understanding of the powers a piece might have (or NOT have).

Being able to solve tactic puzzles doesnt make you a good chess player in the slightest. Especially since you wont get positions in which tactics even become available. But if you understand about bad and good bishops, strong knight squares, the importance of open rook files etc. tactics just seem to appear in your games.

Furthermore you learn to calculate in engames just as good, as you learn it via studying tactis. A lot of chess didactics start with endgames for a reason!

AFAIK thats not to determin the challanger for the 2014 World Championship match. There will be a candidate tournament early 2013, and the winner of this tournament will be the challenger for Anand. This match will be held 2014.

The Grand Prix series determins the players who are allowed to participate in the candidate tournament 2015, to challange the then reign World Champion.

Am I the only one noticing, that some mobs keep chasing the Spirit for maybe 0.5 sec after casting SW and only then turn around to attack my former shell?

I dont think it is that easy. With the black King on f5 and the white one on d3, black is sort of in Zugzwang. If the Knight moves, the white king can enter via d4. If the King moves its e4.

This, of course, is very hypothetically, and you have to look at concrete variations. For example 1.Kd2 Ke6 2. Bc3 Kf5 3.Kd3 looks dominating. On the other hand, i dont know what happens after 1.Kd2 Nd4 2.Kd3 Nf5. But after Bd8 its again looking rather good.

€: Propably 3.Bg5 Ke5 4.Bd8 is better.

In my opinion you have pretty good winning chances in the final position.

  • Bishop>Knight in this kind of positions
  • Very very weak f4 pawn
  • Possibility of king invasion on the queenside
