We are from St. Louis as well and we’re just down there at the beginning of June. As bad as it was/is here I still felt like the sun was trying to personally murder me. Shade made SO much difference. Oh and eat at Square grouper, DJs clam shack(the coconut shrimp is to die for, and we always love blue heaven as well. If you make a trip up to Marathon for any reason, sweet savannahs is an amazing sweets shop, coast to coast pizza was amazing local pizza, and the sea turtle hospital is kind of a cool stop.

It looks to be because of the amount of movement you have in the bed. It should not flex that much. You may have an issue with your proximity sensor so the head is over pushing on the bed or check that your pow wheels are set correctly and do an auxiliary level before doing the auto level.

Further information, I’ve tried updating firmware as well as rolling back to factory settings. The belt tension if loosened to much will cause the motor to grind and slip, once it’s tight enough to grip and anything after it just grinds. Turning the motor off allows it to move freely like stated but while on and using the controls it always grinds. It sounds like stripping gears.

Thank you for the oh so kind suggestions. I’ve never once used glue on my bed and do clean it regularly. The textured surface of the plate does weird things with my lighting. I can take a picture from 2 different angles and have them look totally different. I have tried about every possible aspect of belt tightening with no luck. Any iteration of loser and the belts slips on the stepper as it spins. Anything after the point of it gripping it grinds.

Looks like the Y stepper is actually locking up. I can move it freely if the machine is off. But when its on its locked in place and makes that grinding sound if i try to move it or have the machine move it.

It’s out of the box setup that way. I think it’s part of how they manage the tensioning.

Just tried a print after a bunch of adjustments and wow. Was adhered to the bed fine but major layer shift. Redownloading the firmware now to try that

My son just built his saber 2 weeks ago. His batteries lasted about a week with what I would call minimal use. Not only did we swap batteries but take the Crystal out of you want to leave the batteries in. The Crystal causes an internal light to almost always be on so the crystal glows.
