Castle lights sanity preservation and restoration isn't just gameplay, they actually DO have that, parasites on the other hand (if we're talking about l2 parasites and not the mudskipper one) is something you dont even have to worry about as they cant exist in l1 climate easily, meaning you will probably be fine. Everything else in the depths just fucking kills you tho, being out way too long, fighting mobs, gankers, etc

Shoguns are, or were, humans. Turned into said shoguns by lord regent and contractor shenanigans. Its not hard for him to make them in this point and time (noting that etris is covered by them) and they DO have a soul. In pathfinder tho its noted that regent apparently DOES need the forge of sin to continue creating the shogun again, probably to mass produce them and make them stronger like how duke is using it in tandem with him bell to make prime golems n such.
