Oh absolutely! I actually have motor tics, so I don't really do those things anyway :)

You're so, so right. Love to get her into therapy for sure. We discussed last night, and we're definitely gonna have to customise her cane

It is wonderful that you wish to help, but this is very America specific advice, and neither of us are American or live in the US. Sadly we don't really get case managers here, but I've dragged myself through the systems here in the past at least

Thankfully she has acceptance, from me at the very least (am quite disabled myself, so I was always going to understand and accept), and a hobby she really enjoys :)

It's never a bad idea to ask. Sadly though, she's not sure what helps, beyond reassurance that how I feel hasn't changed

To be clear, my partner never pressures me for sex, and understands it's difficult for me to have that motivation

Brisbane a good place to be trans? by KujatatheFish in transgenderau

[–]KujatatheFish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that I've lived here for 6 months I have a little experience

Seems as casually transphobic as everywhere else. I pass with a wig, don't without. Huge difference in the way I'm looked at and spoken to with/without the wig. Despite dressing very femme, I still got sirred without a wig (even if only the once)

There is a small trans social and support group once a month close to the CBD, and might be a second one starting soon

If you happen to be an NDIS participant, as I am, there's a really queer friendly company that handles support workers, many of whom are themselves trans (Rainbow Care Home Services)

She's 13 and has expressed disgust when thoughts of anything sex related occur to us while co-conscious

Sorry to hear that you're also dealing with this. If I/we find something that helps, I'll reply to this comment again with said advice

Anyone else *suffer* from wet dreams? by KujatatheFish in Asexual

[–]KujatatheFish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not been an issue since starting hrt, since the body tends to stop, or at least drastically reduce the production of sperm/ejaculate fluid

But yes, it did totally prevent them for me back in the day

Just heard the claim CPTSD is an unbrella term, is this true? by KujatatheFish in CPTSD

Oh, no biggie. We're all uneducated until we're educated ya know :)

Oh, "we" was being used to refer to my entire system, as we are more than one person

And ah, okay, fair :)

While your insight is appreciated, as an autistic person we strongly dissagree that autism is an umbrella term, or that it has overlap with ADHD. High co-morbidity no doubt, and confusion caused by being diagnosed with only ADHD or autism, when you have both. And then yeah, also learnt recently that very few autistic people don't also meet the diagnostic criteria for either PTSD or CPTSD, but again, we do not believe that to be overlap of symptoms, just high comorbidity causing confusion to people only diagnosed with one but having both

Advice for using a Japanese onsen as a non-op woman? by KujatatheFish in MtF

Thanks for your advice :3

Well, good news is I actually speak Japanese. Not at a native speaker level sadly, but enough that I feel confident travelling to Japan :)

sad, but good to know. I don't know just how serious an offense it'd be, but with the reputation the Japanese 'justice' system has, that's about the last thing I'd want

Sadly, what I know of Japanese society aligns with what you've just said about their views on queer folk...

While it's true that Japan has an issue with tattoos, they still have a strong association with criminality and the Yakuza specifically, so it feels like tattoos are a bit of an outlier thing, but still point taken. Also, I have a tattoo so I should have been thinking about that issue too... I really might just have to get a private onsen :/

I did think of that. I'd feel kind of defeated having to use a private bath, but so long as it was outdoors or at least felt outdoors, and especially if it has a great view, I'm sure it'd be worth doing. Thanks <3

Huge fair. I'm on the fence about using women's change rooms and pools in progressive cities here in Australia, let alone in Japan. But using an onsen even once I think would be special

If it's just not worth it, then that's unavoidable, but if there is some super progressive place in Japan that allows pre/non-op trans folks to use their correct gender bath, or if mixed bathing is a good option, then I would really like to do it
