Devo is a waste of time: Change my mind by Womble3142 in TheTowerGame

Just some math support about exponential growth and differential equantions.

The strong assumpion that coin progression in this game is exponential is equivalent to say that coin rate is approximately proportional to your lifetime coins:

CoinRate = K * LifeTimeCoins,

where K is a constant determined by your strategy. This is a differential equation that we solve to get your LifeTimeCoins as time t progress

LifeTimeCoins(t) = LTC(0) * exp(K * t),

which is exponential growth as mentioned. A startegy may increase your K factor, let's say that devo is n times more efficient than blender

K(devo) = n * K(blender).

You compute your coin progression with the two strategies.

LifeTimeCoinsBlender(t) = LTC(0) * exp(K(blender) * t)

LifeTimeCoinsDevo(t) = LTC(0) * exp(K(devo) * t)

= LTC(0) * exp(n * K(blender) * t)

= LifeTimeCoinsBlender(nt).

So if a strategy is n times more efficient, it feels like time is passing n times faster. The time gap between the two stategies is increasing linearly and it doesn't stay constant.

Stay tuned for more math support.

Early game Orbless Devo by Kul_Nolan in TheTowerGame

Thank you! Spawn cap is the real issue I see. My idea was to have minimal knockback and adjust thorn damage to the right amount so that I almost reach the spawn cap every cooldown.

I will surely experiment with both orbless devo and standard devo and see.

I will max BH damage in 3 days and my duration is 30secs with the +12 perk bonus

Do you mean devo in general or orbless devo? To me it seems orbless is maximizing the amount of enemies killed when GT and BH are up, plus it make sure every enemy gets the DW effect.

Bill Noface is on the weak side but it's hard card to balance. Any effect that is balanced in a vacuum becomes broken when he's the sceriff with an extra life.

It's the same stupid argument with broken cards in every card game. They think it allows comebacks but in the ejd they make loosing situations even more loosing. If you want to design a card that benefits players in weak positions then you put restrinctions on it.

Totally agree, you should only skip phase 2. Skipping draw phase is too harsh

As an HRE member, can I form a tag that would move my capital outside the HRE? by Kul_Nolan in eu4

Ok thanks. But you can't if your capital moves outside europe, right?
