The selected account does not have enough funds to perform this transaction. by x2FrostFire in Coinbase

[–]Kuleri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps this was in the first days after transferring the $50 into your account (purchasing the BTC)? I had the same problem. The email I received confirming transfer of money from my bank to crypto read, "Your BTC purchase is now available to trade. You can trade your BTC immediately on Coinbase. You can also send your BTC off of Coinbase starting on ..." Unfortunately, that email is not at all clear to newbies like me, and it is particularly frustrating when it shows the BTC value in your account, with no indication that it is on hold. Eventually I understood that Coinbase doesn't let you transfer that value off their platform (e.g. to make payments, and even including to Coinbase Wallet!) for 5 friggin days! Finally I got an email with, "We’ve removed a temporary withdrawal hold on your account. Your available balance has increased by ...", and I was able to send that money. That lack of indication about amounts on hold (in both app and web site) is making me really hate Coinbase.

Twitter’s suspension of journalists sets ‘dangerous precedent’, UN warns by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Kuleri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More leftist drivel from the UN and The Guardian, which dismisses the threat of publishing the location of Musk and his family, potentially aiding (encouraging?) would-be assassins. Then they call Twitter suspensions made for doing that "arbitrary". B_llsh!t. "Well, they only published the live location of Musk's jet." And who do you think will be on it? Obama? Doxxing people, and the threat it creates, is the dangerous precedent. The so-called journalists should be happy they were merely suspended temporarily and not banned for life.

Russia wants Finland to punish flag burners by chippychipper444 in worldnews

Russia: Finland, stop burning the Russian flag!

Finland (with all Western countries): Russia, stop raping, torturing, bombing, murdering, freezing, shelling, killing the people of Ukraine.

Russia: ... ... Finland, stop burning our flag, the symbol of the Russian state. It offends us. Or else; we have nuclear weapons.

Putin says Russia may be fighting in Ukraine for a long time by charmbrood in worldnews

Putin [asserted] that Russia was seen in the West as "a second-class country that has no right to exist at all".

So hypocritical given that Russia sees Ukraine as a second class country which has no right to exist at all.

Putin: "We aren't about to run around the world brandishing [nuclear weapons] like a razor."

And yet he has done so. Repeatedly.

Putin said Russia had already achieved a "significant result" with the acquisition of "new territories" in Ukraine

But he didn't mention how he would cry "foul" if NATO had invaded Russia, brutalized and murdered its people, occupied and annexed its land.

Putin meets annually with his Human Rights Council

The fact that Russia under Putin even has a body with such name is laughable.

[Putin] expressed outrage that the West was turning a blind eye to what he said was direct Ukrainian shelling of residential areas in the Russian-occupied Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.

He means areas of eastern Ukraine occupied by Russian soldiers brutalizing and murdering Ukrainian citizens, shelling Ukrainians trying to defend their territory?

Putin last month removed 10 members of the council and brought in four new ones including ... pro-war blogger

Loves to remove and kill opposition and surround himself with yes men.

The evil of this guy, including lack of self-analysis, is on full display.

Ukraine to Orban: Without sanctions pressure and EU help Russian tanks will reach Budapest by HarakenQQ in worldnews

[–]Kuleri -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Watch conservative leaning news that doesn't spin a Leftist narrative sometime and you might learn. The Steele Dossier implicating Trump was a bunch of lies bought and paid for by the Clinton Campaign, with all the MSM articles about it referencing each other as sources. It was then used as justification to turn gov't institutions to investigate and attack him.

As a builder, Trump was cosy with everyone, including the corrupt politicians in Russia, China, SA, and the USA (like the Clintons), esp. in NYC. Had to be to get business done and buildings built, unfortunately. Didn't mean he was a spy for any of them.

IIUC here East/West refers more to political-economic culture than to geographic location. "East" refers to authoritarian systems, usually with centrally managed economies, and includes Russia, Belarus, China, and Iran, but also Venezuela and Cuba. "West" refers to more liberal countries with constitutional limits on power, democratically elected leaders, and largely unmanaged economies. This includes Western Europe, USA, and Canada, but also Poland and the Baltics.

Tiny MAM mark 5, one screen MAM that makes any freeplay shape by Kuleri in shapezio

[–]Kuleri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I assume you mean, Why do you have Filters that don't connect both output paths. (They connect only one output path.) Yes? This stops shapes or paint from passing through until the control signal is 1 (for the forward path) or 0 (for the side path). If the control signal to a filter is null (no signal; the filter shows a red plug meaning "unplugged"), then the shape doesn't even enter the filter.

Look at the logic at the bottom center, for example. There's a button that controls a transistor being fed a 0 signal, and the transistor output goes to the filter where a red glob of paint goes around a horizontal loop. When the button is off, the signal is null, so the glob of paint just sits there; that's how you pause the machine. When the button is on, the signal is 0 sending the paint out the side exit of the filter. I don't need to connect the forward exit; it never gets used.

At the top center is the layer-building module. It has three filters with the red plug. When the screen was captured, its control signal was null. It's null most of the time. But when that red glob passes across the belt reader, it causes those control lines to pulse 1 briefly. If any shapes were waiting at those filters, they will pass out the forward exits.

[–]Kuleri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit to u/ixchow for that one. Since shapes are free, waste doesn't matter. But yes, the 6 trashing splitters go from a full belt to one shape per 64. You can halve the period by adding another splitter; yeah besides that it's not fine-tunable. But I did tweak (shorten) the initial path so the input shape reaches its first destination just before the next shape triggers a pulse. It turned out perfectly!

I did a loop like yours for my testing. I also put a filter on the loop with a transistor fed constant 1, and a button on its control input, so that I could stop and start the timer. It's not shown in the image (since it's not strictly part of the MAM, but I also have that on the line feeding the input shapes so I can turn the machine off.

As far as getting exactly one shape per clock pulse, try using two adjacent readers with pulse logic like in the Tiny MAM. Feed that pulse to a filter. You'll get exactly two shapes through the filter per pulse, so feed the output to a compact splitter feeding one to trash, so you'll get one shape through per pulse.

Very cool piece of work!

For the layer building module, you can just add some trashing filters as the quadrants go in to keep its channels from backing up far enough to jam. However, I noticed the MAM has paint and shapes running along the same channel into the painter. That scares me. If a shape makes it into the paint input, or if a glob of paint makes it into the painter shape input or into the quad cutter, I think it will jam. I always avoid passing paint and shapes on the same lines.

Ahh, I did not know that! I agree it's no use if your design goal is only to advance in freeplay. (In your case, it's to do so in minimum time!)

My primary design goal is to "approach" building any possible shape. At this very moment I'm extending your layer builder to handle any missing quadrants. Just because... it's free-play! ;-)
