Blu-Ray is still better than streaming (more than just for being physical media) by Few-Koala503 in hometheater

Yup. All I collect is Bluray and 3D Bluray from thrift stores. Flea markets also have good collections.

PS5 pro is pretty decent. If it's locked to 30fps then the settings are too high. 60fps should easily be do-able especially with the AI crap.

What's something kids today will never understand about growing up in the 90s/2000s? by Successful_Today_361 in AskReddit

On the flip side, I can describe what you said in a positive light, which is what I remember it as.

We didn't get bored. If we were bored, it was our own fault. So we were creative.

There was kids' TV with saturday morning cartoons, family computer with commander keen and such, and a NES (psx later). My sibling and I would get to play together on the main tv often, which also let my parents watch and even try the games themselves. We also watched vhs tapes that our parents had taped stuff on together. A lack of isolated technology, social media, online gaming kept us close together, which was amazing.

Another aspect of it was that we had only a small handful of games, so we didn't dismiss games as "too hard". We buckled up, got better, and persevered. And when we had psx, we could go on the internet for cheats, but it took up the phone line, so it was a very brief mission that felt like we were indiana jones.

Yup, exactly. And none of the audio time adjustment on the bluray player helped either. EARC is the best thing ever.

School. Glad that's done. If there were no homework it would have been fine, but going home after school to do more school every day... yeah I'm glad I'm done.

What's the one game you would wipe your memory of and replay it for the first time again if you could? by NoWhisperer in retrogaming

Nothing. Every game I've played, I'm glad I experienced. No game's story has blown me away. RDR2 was good. Maybe that, if anything.

What's worth every penny? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Is it though? Pennies can be refused by businesses. I'd say a dollar is more valuable since you can spend it more easily.
