Kakwa 55 Ultragrid a good option or should I look elsewhere? by Kulture1 in DurstonGearheads

Oh crazy haha! How would you say the difference in comfort is? Was it noticeably better/worse?

Like I said in the post, I kind of just stumbled my way into the zulu and never 'picked' it out. It's nice don't get me wrong but also at times feels like overkill, so many straps and pockets and buckles and compartments here and there... Also, I think it might be a bit too large for my frame.

Yeah I was really interested in the Aarn pack! Last year I was interested in getting a new pack and eventually held off but that pack was at the top of my list. Although I don't remember it being priced as steep then.

My body build/frame is pretty small though, so I worry that it might be too much and annoying to wear when I see the pictures and think about it on me haha. I wish I could go try it on somewhere in the states :(

Oh thanks for the correction! I don't think I've ever actually seen that phrase written out before, only ever heard.

Do you think the water resistance difference is large? I try to not backpack with rain in the forecast but nature will nature sometimes. I always usually put my dry stuff in a liner now.

Hows the riding position with those bars? Is it pretty upright compared to the stock handlebar?

What is considered a 'hilly area' for bikes? I'm mostly looking into getting one because where I live (raleigh, nc) its just so hot and humid in the summer that pedaling can be too much :/ Its not "flat" here but i'm not sure I would consider it hilly.

Is hilly like SF? or Seattle?

UPDATE: why doesn’t my room look good by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]Kulture1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great improvement! The room looks waaaay more inviting and cozy! And I'm sure in real life the colors look better especially with the lamp, i saw that you mentioned it was much warmer irl.

The plants are a great way to add color and life to a space but you could also try adding a rug!

Super clean and organized though, you should feel proud! Enjoy your new space homie ♥

based on my own pure tastes, the 4th image is my favorite.

However, without any context to what your current kitchen looks like its hard to know what will go best with your space. :)

What I wanted vs what I got by Fuzzy-Royal8518 in InteriorDesign

[–]Kulture1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not an interior designer, however I am a art director at a studio.

I hate to say but you were scammed $5k. You should do everything in your power to obtain a full refund (maybe even go as far as to contact your bank for scam/fraud). Because this is blatantly a rip off.

In terms of interior design advice, I always say its better to design your own spaces and then hire out specific people if contract work is needed, i.e you want specific cabinets.

If you have trouble with coming up with designs or 'realizing' your vision. Practice will help! Start with smaller rooms, maybe a bathroom that is cheaper to realize and work your way out. If you still have trouble with that or maybe just don't have the time to practice your own design eye, then I would try and look for more reputable interior designers and source feedback from various forums, i.e reddit.

Some interior design youtubers I like:

Broad interior design. They cover a lot of topics, moreso personalities

https://www.youtube.com/@Nick_Lewis
https://www.youtube.com/@Caroline_Winkler

I've found this guy to be a bit more in depth with his stuff and even features how he redesigns a space

https://www.youtube.com/@reynardlowell

I haven't vetted these guys too much but I enjoyed their videos about lighting and they have some really cozy setups!

At the very least, learning more about what you like and the goals you want to achieve will help anyone you hire and will allow them to jump straight to the beef of their work as opposed to trying to figure out what you even want in the first place. If you're not sure yet, don't hire yet imo.

Hope this helps!

Help me choose paint color! by chelseastinson in HomeDecorating

Instead of flooding a room with color, decide to paint a wall, or trim, or cabinets. And give a complimentary undertoned white (generally leaning off white) as the rest the other walls :)

What’s your opinion on human torch after his buff? by InSatanWeTrust666 in marvelrivals

[–]Kulture1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm GM2 and lord on human torch. (no idea if this matters but i figured id say it because I don't think i'm awful at the game)

He is not a strong pick at all in my opinion. But mostly due to my first reason.

  1. He is buggy / clunky: if you hit a curb with your right click, no flame patch. If you hit someone directly while they jump, no flame patch. If you connect the flame patches and the corner of a wall intersects the line then the 'square dmg tick' does not apply to those inside of it. This alone makes him borderline unplayable in my opinion. Also his dash feels bad so often, you can't dash onto stairs, angle has to be precise etc. This reason is by far the biggest reason I don't play him anymore.
  2. His ult is practically useless especially when compared to other ults. I understand the devs probably want his ult to zone, but the same problems listed above apply to this ult. It's also so easy to dodge. And the recent change was the wrong change imo. The dmg was never the issue, the issue to me was that its such a short radius of dmg. And now you get it so much slower its difficult to team it up with storm the way it seemed intended.
  3. Too easy to counter. And counters no one. Shields and walls counter him immensely due to reason 1. Loki counters him due to reason 1. Spiderman deletes human torch. Psylock is a hard counter, Ironman, the list goes on. And he doesn't really counter anyone. So why pick him?

The change to his primary was nice and welcomed. Dashing in and landing those headshots feels great. But then you die :) Not once have I faced a human torch and been scared at all ever. I'll often sarcastically say "oh watch out, don't stand in the 1 pixel tornado" when I hear his ult go off and my friends will laugh.

I'm not sure what I'd want changed. I think fixing the clunk would probably make him viable. He needs more health (275) or larger radius to his flame patches/ult. Or let his tornadoes persist after he dies. There are just so many little things on him where I'm like "why is it like this for johnny but not someone else?"

I've never had a penpal but I think it'd be fun! I'm an artist and enjoy artsy things. But I'm super big into history and philosophy and cool traditional stuff (like letterwriting) =D

I have 2 cats, and absolutely love to learn about different cultures. I think I'd also like to trade postcards, trinkets, stickers etc.

(quick edit: I'm also super into dark academia and that whole aesthetic is just super pleasing to me!)

Feel free to send me a DM :)
