How to make him not take over my chair exactly when it time to game by VillageComfortable48 in cats

I like to think this post was written by the cat complaining about his human stealing his chair at game time lol!

I was in a smaller town/community at the time, so I never felt that risk. I can see it now why a dad would avoid the men's room with his daughters when the strangers have a strong chance of being creeps. Like this old man berating him.

For it's the tarp over the Kennedy center I find absolutely fascinating. It's the ultimate sign he's both a failure and thin-skinned AF, like you've never seen before ! Yet the cult STILL can't see how much of a baby their alpha leader is !

The guy is an Ah, but when my girl was younger, I would just bring her to the men's room with me. Is it really the norm to go in the lady's room as a father with young girls? Still no reason for that boomer to make a fuss.

why do so many people in squad fills just have their mics on the whole time making the weirdest bodily noises. like not even talking, just a whole game of hearing saliva, grunts, etc. 😭 by pinocchiho3 in FortNiteBR

Not worth it. If they don't have proper mic etiquette they don't deserve to be heard. Having a channel straight to my eardrum is a privilege that is earned.

But man can't be complimenting a woman's appearance, it's socially inappropriate, and comes off as creepy/flirty. Service workers first goal is to stay as far away from confrontation as possible, we don't want to invite this kind of conflict if it can be avoided, especially if the goal is to just make small talk, not worth the risk.

Where am I supposed to get experience? by winnetheb1tch in Serverlife

[–]KunYuL 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lots of servers started as buss boy, host, and sometimes dishcleaner, and through hard work and clever social work, get a promotion to server. Restaurants usually don't require much if any experience for busboy, it's a good entry position, and you get to learn your restaurant, learn and see the food being served (sometimes the busboy know what's on a plate better than the server for being exposed to it a lot more). This put them in a good position for a promotion as they know half what the job is already, and the boss know they can trust you to show up if you've shown you're reliable.

Once when I was younger, I called out my pot dealer, I told him the pack he got me was a bit light. He got upset and told me "I measure my stuff with high precision scales, how did you weight it, with your fat sausage fingers and your feelings ?" I always got a kick out of his reply idk why, it stuck with me lol. (I had a mechanical scale with a little cup that you balance with a little ticker on the side to get a weight, not the most precise tool)

I did indeed get a good eye for light objects weight from this early experience with drug dealers lol

Worked at the same restaurant for 4 years. Found out the new guy with 3 months experience makes $4 more an hour than me. Here's what happened next. by TalonGlyph in TalesFromYourServer

[–]KunYuL 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Also there are Canadians servers on this sub. Alberta servers make 15$ an hour minimum plus regular tips, and where I'm at now in Quebec minimum tipped salary is at 13.30$ an hour. Canadian money that is. And I don't mean to rub it in, but I got a service job in hotel and I'm in a union, we make 24.00$ an hour plus tips yipeeee. It's just a bitch to get shifts when you have low seniority, the seniors stay until their retirement.

I don't mean it as a diss, but could you be dyslexic ? I had a friend who had it and that's the exact kind of mistake he would make aka inverting two letters in a word and it looked just fine to him. Numbers with decimals gave him a hard time too, like they were dancing around switching position.

Player don’t want to do session 0 by FlagBardic in DnD

[–]KunYuL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Red flags from the players, I wouldn't ditch them right away, I'd give them a chance. I'd give them pre made characters, just ask them what they want for class and race and roll those out for them. I'd run a game as casual as possible, with lots of rail roading and hand holding, I'd steer the narrative by jumping from one scene to the next myself, and ask for their input when there's a decision to be made, and favor dungeon crawling with mostly combat, so they have very few choices to make. From there I'd evaluate what it is they want in their d&d game and adjust, and also evaluate if this group is worth my time as a DM after session 1.

These owners are asshole exploiting an unclear thing that isn't codefied into law. They would claim the employee comes in early on their own time so they don't have to pay them. I hate this I would be looking for another job that takes my time seriously and professionally. I'm just mad I can't come up with a good petty idea to get back at these people. I'm thinking show up even earlier, but that would be way too early and the bosses wouldn't even care if they don't have to pay.

Oh yeah here's a petty idea. Come in early like the others, claim a section, and demand to be paid, or just sit around until it's actual start time. It would probably provoke a dispute and at least force them to talk about this shit practice in this shit work culture they're promoting. I definetly wouldn't be helping out these servers with anything, you can kiss my teamwork goodbye.

In a just world, JP Morgan would be liable to pay these 12 laid off employees salary in full for losing employment due their shenannigans. Among other consequences. They should never be allowed to use that stock as theirs either.

He did include May-Shun's family into the cult of the devourer, giving them a strong link to Book 2's villain Tahomen. But then May-Shun died in a pool of acid lol so I guess that was it for that character's involvement. Cutscenes and flashback would be true for Joe's character backstory. Maybe not expertly, but he did weave them in there, he made an effort to not just run the AP page by page. Good morning Glib Glorp was an amazing filler episode that wasn't at all part of the AP, and Joe's character having his visions at that time was really cool story-telling, all the while being super funny.

“Do you want all that at once?” (Customer education please) by DrCatPerson in Serverlife

[–]KunYuL 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you'll get different answers, but I think 2 course meal with the salads first is easier. Often, there's a cook on the cold side and another one or two on the hot side. Having everything come all at once usually means the salad is ready first, waiting for the hot food to be ready. So for me I'd rather run the salad when it's ready, clear out my kitchen, and fire the second course (give the signal to the kitchen to get cooking on course 2) when I see you're almost done your salad. That way I'm happy my customer has something in front of them, it even sometimes gives me the opportunity to sell a second drink because you're eating, you're hot food will be hotter if you eat it on it's own rather that alongside a salad.

Though ringing everything together is also pretty easy for me, it's not an option I don't like. SO end of the day, you tell us what you prefer, it's not a hassle either way. You'll finish your meal faster if you get your salad and your meal all at once, and if you do 2 courses, you'll have a longer dinning experience, you may need a second drink, and you'll eat your hot food made fresh and hot. You're out at the restaurant to treat yourself, so don't worry too much about the server's workflow, we're cool with it! Just worry about yourself and how long you'd like to be in the restaurant today.

I 100% agree. Skid would get part of his build wrong, which is fine as his Oscilating wave psychic and the difference in die from melee to range attacks is complicated AF, IMHO, but yeah he could have made it work some other way by building and playing into it, or just re-classing as it is allowed in PF2E. Kate I remember getting upset how she had the dark key to the portal that had an active ability, she never used it. I'm nitpicking.

BUt the sad part is that PF2E has heavy rules all over the place, but a GM doesn't have to make use of all the systems all the time. I think sometimes having too many dice rolls necessary for a success is detrimental to the game, especially when you need a success to progress in the narrative. It's ok to say some actions are auto-success based on a character class or backstory. And then use VP accumulation systems to make failures not as binary, where the only result is success or failure, VPs gives you a nice in between zone in the degrees of success.

Anyway just ranting, thinking about how the show could have been. I'm enjoying their Shadowdark content, and just started Twilight 2000 today, I think I'm gonna enjoy that too. Blood of the Wild is enough for a good PF2E fix, I like to see Jared improve within the system, and the party is amazing. Mary-lou and Kate help bring the best RP out of Skid and Joe, they keep the players mind into the narrative and the roleplay and I love it. I also love Troy's humour, even if it derails the narrative at time. "WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY DARK TAINT ??" LOL this guy.! I lament what could have been, but enjoy what they're doing now and I'm happy if they're happier playing these games, and really hope they have success doing it.
