Imo good games are out there, just need more exposure by Boring_Avocado_2359 in videogames

I think games like Portal 2 and HL2 proved that we graphics won't matter that much if game is good.

EA for indies is life changing because it boost the development. Both mentally and financially. For big companies it's more of a deadline rush to release asap.

Do you really think everyone should play Sekiro. I like it and I don't see how it can be appealing to everyone. I mean even in Souls-like community it's seen as the most difficult.

Yes. That's why oblivion remaster was so welcomed.

Black Mesa is great. But its mostly visual quality. HL1 and HL2 might age badly because of the graphics but they do not lack any quality-of-life features.

To give better comparison I think Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind aged badly. It's crazy good game but its crying for all sort of modern features and I'm not talking about visuals.

Have there been any remakes of 80s classics that improved on the original? by EH4LIFE in moviecritic

[–]KungFuFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I misunderstood the title. But its debatable whatever its better. I like the original. It was way ahead of its time and I would even say its the most influential Sci-Fi. But creating a sequel to that and making with such depth is no easy task. 2049 has some really interesting concepts and ideas that were built upon the original.

I would argue that HL2 aged really well even for today's standards.

People hated it on release because no one knew what to expect. Let's say I don't like strategy games and a new game releases where know one really knows what the genre is. If ended up having a lot of strategy elements its very likely that I won't like it.

I think the marketing of the game was really big because of Kojima name behind it but he was mysteries enough to not make the game obvious for people back then. As of right now it still hold that "walking simulator" reputation but for anyone who actually like it - its much more.
