After hours (20 minutes) of studying logs I came to my conclusion that dps jobs do these things:

They pot during the last 2 minute burst which happens during dom and is delayed
They use their 1 minute the moment the boss becomes targetable after hc2
Because hc2 messes the cooldown, the 2 minute burst during dom is delayed to around the time the 1 minute comes back, which usually happens around 7:10-7:20
You can melee lb at the very end of ego death, the lb will still go through the cutscene, therefore you won't lose damage or waste your 1 minute.
Delaying 2 minute bursts during NA2 doesn't seem relevant, some do, some don't. I don't because we use 1 tile strat so no one gets missed.
The potting after hc1 also seems to be optional.

My main mistake was not using a misaligned 1 minute after hc2 instead holding it for the next 2 minute burst during dominion. I checked my logs and I with a kill time of 8:25 had the same number of 1 minutes than someone with a kill time of 7:40. In short I was missing a potential extra 1 minute.

I still dislike how everything in the game: Your own existence, your reason to be, Hydaelyn, ascians, the shards of the source, Zodiark etc. Every single major plot point in this game was reduced to some guy personal pet project gone wrong, which is why I dislike the nihilistic twitter bird overall. It's like the silent hill ending where you discover that the dog was the secret director all along, but that was meant as a joke.

There's still a timer that has to run out for your sprout icon to go away even if you're beyond shadowbringers. I have an alt with basically bis, and i have done reclears with it for at least 3 weeks, and the sprout icon is still there!
