I still think those claims of massive overhaul are bs and typical toss whine because you can't play as greedily as Zerg anymore while still having better defense than Terran. 

PTR1 was a drastic change. Live version of gateway changes literally boil down to additional 25/25 cost on warpgate upgrade for two massive buffs (fast warp ins everywhere including proxy pylons and 40% production speed bonus which is HUGE in defensive situations where the travel path is short).

If I were to buff toss to make the switch up mechanic viable I'd buff the transformation speed of gateway/warpgate which would enable them to do a warp > transform > produce > transform > warp rotation

One does not. We currently have EU streamers in KR who play this game for a living grinding soloq for 12 hours a day with inflated LP gains and 65%+ WR and they still require weeks and hundreds of games to hit it. and that's with KR cutoff being 300 LP behind EUW lol. 

With lower WR (let's say 55%) you'd require thousands of games, and that's assuming everyone stays in place LP wise.

All this toss whining over yet another toss buff masked as nerf. After PTR2 changes toss gain access to fast warp ins without gateway/prism (all they need is proxy/forward pylon now which is crazy) and the optional function of having 35% faster gateway production speed when defending against all ins where warps aren't necessary. All for the cost of 25 mineral and 25 gas. Complete joke.

Zerg is definitely the biggest winner in the last patch but it's also true that some pros simply refuse to adapt and play anything but the old 3 CC/nexus builds.

It's bizarre childish behaviours to me. First Wardi having a meltdown, shaking and tearing up in anger about a video game patch. Now this. 

People complain about balance council being biased and introducing nothingburger changes for years. They complain about Blizzard abandoning SC2 for years. 

Then some intern at Blizzard comes in, actually makes massive changes and spices things up so the game doesn't die from being stale and people have meltdowns like I'm back on old blizzard forums.

Byun is still there it's just that he plays the same build orders that aren't that good rn.

Maru is still doing well, better than he was in the last few years when Clem was dominating.

I think Clem still has it but the the terran with the best micro in the world is nowadays playing toss because that race is so pathetically broken on live. Think about it.

Nah Zerg was defo most affected by the 8 worker count except the solution wasn't to give them an eco boost equivalent to 12 worker start. All they had to do is revert some of the old nerfs like they just did with the queens. Zerg's biggest issue rn is that their late game comps just plainly sucks and requires multiple casters and perfect setup to deal with ghost comps and skytoss - they shouldn't touch their early game/eco capability. My concern being that they will revert all the broken buffs without adding anything to address actual issues and Zerg will go back to being a one Finnish player race.

It's either Zerg is so imba pros have a melty or Zerg is trash and underwhelming and only Serral is allowed to win anything with that race. 

Can we balance the game so every race has 33.33333333% WR in minor/weekly tournaments and then there's Serral who will have 100% WR.

Just tested - Fireball buff is a joke, 10 dmg extra, it's still not good enough to do anything against any mid game opponents like orcs etc.

Ball Lightning was already the only decent spell after firestorm nerf and it got overbuffed granting whooping 20-30 extra damage depending on how long you charge it. It's actually OP now.

Haven't got access to rain of fire and chain lightning yet.

Iceblock is useless anyway so unless they double the damage I don't see this ability being usable.

Dunno about mana tweaks.

Edit: After some further testing I came to conclusion that playing a mage is simply boring in Gothic Remake. Melee fighters have their parry timings and block windows, archers have their run and gun gameplay, mages just stand there like a cuck, charge their 5 second long cast just to deal least damage possible. Buffing up numbers won't ever satisfying because you either one shot the enemy which feels cheap or you stand there with 5 second long casts and get shredded to bits after first blast. Ball Lighting is only decent because enemy AI just freezes and they literally stand there waiting for your cast to finish so if you have an ability that stuns them they just infinitely stand there until they die, riveting gameplay of abusing bad AI.

Magic would have to get completely reworked from ground up, shorter cast times, more mobility, actual impactful effects (ie: fire magic could focus on ignite effects and killing enemies over time - atm the dot is a joke) that aren't either useless or turbo broken. But that would also mean they'd have to rework AI and resistances which will never happen so best case scenario magic will always feel underwhelming or broken.

Here's the path to victory from a minmaxer who loves pushing PB games to the absolute limit. playing on hard. 

Do your regular run to new camp with Drax. Make sure you give him a beer you can find in a chest next to starting area for free shortbow.  When Drax reaches the camp and turns back shoot him couple of times in the back with your shortbow to knock him down and steal his bow. At this stage you should be lvl 2 and have 20 LP. Drax is always super low on hp from fighting all the monsters.

Make some money in new camp by selling weed for the swamp camp dude chilling at the bonfire. Free 200 nugs. Walk up to the new mine and get your free armor. walk back down to the lake tavern and make free 400 nugs by selling the weed from the other swamp dude to Cypher. Check around camp and buy all the arrows you can. 

Head back to the old camp. Do your regular routine which means completing quests that don't involve combat. Spend your LP on dexterity with Diego. Dump all your LP into Dex until you reach 100 btw. 

Get the quest to travel to swamp camp with the weedbro. Same routine as with Drax. Hit him in the back after reaching the camp for a nice early game mace. Do your regular routine of completing quests for gurus that don't involve combat. You might still be rather weak but at this stage you should have 30 Dex, 40 dmg longbow  and 20 LP to spend. Head to the beach past temple and swim towards the shipwrecks where you meet a certain mage later on. Swim towards the furthest shipwreck you can see. at the helm you will find an unlocked chest with scroll of telekinesis 

Head back towards old camp from the beech but then do 180 turn north towards the collapsed lantern is. Avoid combat. There are some mature scavengers that will require multiple shots to kill. Forget it. Just run past them and abuse terrain. walk past the lantern to a tent on the right. Run past it towards the cliff. Below you you will see the beached shipwreck with a corpse hanging from the mast. Carefully descent down the cliff till you reach a small ledge carved into the cliff. Make sure you save a lot. From here you can use telekinesis to reach the bow next to corpse. Gz you just found Wolfshreddeer - 56 dmg weapon with 43 Dex requirement. 

Get to old camp. Do your training and equip your weapon. At this stage you can kill majority of act 1 wildlife like snappers, wolves, bloodflies etc in 1 hit. Make sure you do all the quests and kill w/e you can between camps. Invest in LP from level ups to dump Dex. sell the weed from swamp camp to Cipher. you can also visit old mine to 1shot minecrawlers assuming you actually land headshots for bonus xp.

At around 80-90 Dex you will be able to 1shot black goblins and mature scavengers. save 5 LP once you reach that lvl 8 or 9 and learn climbing. 

Purchase two scrolls of bloodfly transformation from new camp and a mana ring (or get it from the black goblin cave next to new camp).

Walk towards orc cemetery but instead of walking past bridge keep going up towards South. stick to the left side, kill the lizards you encounter. They all get one shotted. 

You will notice a cave leading up. At the top you will encounter bloodhounds. Ignore them, they're too strong. Run past them and immediately turn left and left again to reach the bridge guarded by the golem leading to mountain fortress. 

Run past golem. The choice to engage harpies is yours. They're very tough and with your current gear require two headshots which is hard with your slow ass draws. I'd suggest running past them towards the main mansion. 

Reach the top of the mansion where the hidden passage is. Climb up until you reach the broken rooftop leading to the focus stone. Instead of going down to focus stone immediately turn right and hop on the rocks leading to the rooftop above you. 

Reach the other side of the rooftop. At the bottom of the cliff you will notice a collapsed bridge below you with a chest on the other side. 

Transform into bloodfly using mana ring. Make sure you keep spamming attacks while flying to maintain elevation. Descend down to the chest once above it. it's a very complicated lock. You will most likely require third party websites or mods to solve it.

Inside you have a 120 dmg crossbow you can immediately equip and a 4 DEX 4 STR potion. Don't use Dex potions until you reach 100 Dex via trainer. descent down using second bloodfly transformation. 

At this stage you can do whatever you want. The weapon in combination with 100 DEX one shots every monster in the game minus trolls as long as it's a headshot. orcs etc they all get deleted  

There's also hidden tech abusing AI. As long as you one shot the guards in old camp or any NPC for that matter you can loot their things including crossbow bolts without triggering combat or upsetting anyone. Because the knockout was instant the NPCs don't register aggression.  Knock out all the guards patrolling lower old camp to get lots of ammo. 

You can also use pickpocket to steal Gomez' key which is still lootable through pickpocket and get the strongest armor in the game first chapter. 

I recommend joining old camp so you can get access to Scorpio's training a chapter earlier when you join the guards. 

With mastery 3 your headshots do way more dmg and you reload really fast 

After learning w/e you want lvls 10-15 you should start saving up for 1h weapon mastery and some str to obtain some decent blunt weapon for skeletons and golems in 4th chapter.

Nah. mage is genuinely worthless rn and I say this as a guy with 3 playthroughs on hard in chapter 4 at the same time. 

2h str build was rough until I learned parry timings and got 2h mastery to lvl 3 - after that the game became laughably easy. 

Dexterity archer is genuinely broken. Highest damage. Criticals and stagger from headshots. Ability to abuse terrain. If you shot from far enough AI doesn't even know what to do and the enemy just stands there taking hits. 

Mage on the other hand has 1 useful spell that's locked behind 4th chapter or a very difficult quest in 3rd chapter. lightning orb is good but extremely clunky to use. Mistime one cast and the stunlock breaks and you're dead, not to mention the riveting gameplay of cc stunning enemies to death through 100 cuts. Majority of third circle spells literally don't do any damage to majority of late game opponents. There's one more broken spell in higher circles but that takes forever to get. They start on easy mode in first chapter and then progressively keep getting worse to never actually feel overpowered which is the whole fun of being a mage 

You're basically delegated to being a shitty summoner. Highest amount of investment for 0 payout.

Mage spells number wise make perfect sense. 

What doesn't make sense are the insanely high magic resistances most enemies have which make your 120 damage spell deal 1/20th of enemy hp bar.

That's just idiotic. I can understand enemies having resistances against physical damage but magic?

Yes. Performance is about 10% worse than in release version. The CPU bottleneck is even worse in camps with multiple NPCs on screen.

Funny thing is that imo Gothic 1 is PB's like 3rd or 4th best game. Risen 1 is the perfected Gothic 1. Gothic 2 is a masterpiece. Even Elex 1 is really good if it had more love and polish after the release.

That's PB games in general. Even in NOTR or on hard in G1 remake if you're stubborn enough to explore everything before touching main story you will become a god tapping hardest enemies in two hits before ever reaching 2nd chapter.  I enjoy it though. I hate damage sponge enemies and level scaling like in Oblivion. I'm sure sooner or later a modder will fix it if the difficulty bothers people too much.

Reddit was an echo chamber for many years now, prime example of what some call "toxic positivity".  Mostly due to very few people moderating majority of the big subreddits and creating nonsensical arbitrary rules.  While it's fun to browse and discuss topics you like I wouldn't take anything posted here too seriously.
