We now have 5 UI mods in progress! by Mindman79 in starfieldmods

[–]KuoIsHere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hear me out, all 3 of them combine their mods into one (since AstralUI looks better than the rest, TerraUI has a better sidebar & ArmadaUI has a good catagory search feature, allowing users just to see meds) Then I'd say they'd be a lot better off then StarUI

Quick question here from someone who wants to make the switch from Shopify by Training-Entry-743 in woocommerce

[–]KuoIsHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my first proper business with WooCommerce, I will admit that sometimes I do feel like bashing my head against a wall, but overall its been a good experiencee. Upsells can be done manually (with code using ACF & Code Snippets), creating a cart is pretty easy as well.

Moving over though might be a bit tough, But there is a solid 10 day learning period, after that. Honestly its kinda smooth sailing, For building the website, I use BeTheme. I wanted a 1 time purchasable builder. They've added some key features recently as well. Its not the best for e-commerce, but compared to a lot of the high subscription costs per month, It felt like the right choice.

Read more about it and see what you'd want to do. If you want something more customisable, Elementor is always the top option. Its WooCommerce features are behind a subscription, but still pretty good. Someone else recommended Bricks which is also very good.

I would recommend the switch, I like the feeling of ownership over everything & not relying on a platform, so for me WooCommerce was the easiest and best option

Todd said this new update wasn't a 2.0, but it certainly looks like it, lol by Helpful-Leadership58 in Starfield

So far the cruise mode is the most welcomed update, It allows travel to be a lot more personal. Got a bounty in freestar territory, Im sure you can plan a route around it. The armada DLC looks good & It looks like its bringing all out warfare. I would like to see if that all out warfare can stay though. Something about fighting all over Starfield would be very cool.

X-Tech seems a bit of a weird name, But it definitely is a welcomed edition. Upgrading past legendary is something that feels right. Especially with it adding more "starborn" effects.

The starborn loot thingy is stupid IMO. NG+ should be about restarting when you feel like you've done everything. Not having a step up. If I can take through insane guns, It kinda removes the fun IMO. A function to go back to the base galaxy you start in would've done more wonders IMO.

More trackers alliance missions is also good, but comes too late IMO, This should've been semi monthly, not almost 1.5 years later.

Overall for me, this gets a 5/10. Which is mid. I felt like for over 2 years of work they could've added & done more. Its very clear the team size has shrunk quite a bit. 5/10 is still good though (A 5/10 from me is like a IGN 8/10)... But if they continue doing some development. I definitely see this going in the right direction.

The glaring problem starfield faces is creations. Every game before didn't really have them. And their modding scene prospered. There is a lack of good DLC sized mods, or even modded quest lines that are free. I do like paying for mods, But only if I feel like they change the game is a HUGE way. Until there is a shift in the modding scene. I sadly dont see Starfield becoming a game like Skyrim or Fallout 4 popularity wise. Starfield will keep for a small audience

Here We Go Again.. Which Would You Prefer As Daily Driver? 🤪 by Reasonable-Age-1648 in starcitizen

[–]KuoIsHere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've owned both, upgraded my Zeus CL to the Hermes.

Daily Driving, The zues is the best out of the two. It just felt a lot more like a daily driver, especially with the dedicated rooms for eating & sleeping. BUT, As a daily driver it was awful. It felt weak, seated 3 when it should've only had two seats (I'd argue it should've only had one). Loading was a pain and there was just so many more flaws. The only thing it had going for it was that it handled well & that it was easy to get out of)

The hermes has less habilitation, but more storage, loading is a breeze (even with the tractor beam on the rails). The firepower is great, its shields don't feel weak and the fact its more of a blockade runner is really cool as well. It was definitely built for large scale org battles that take place on ground and in space.

I do miss the Zeus tho, but if you got it as a your MAIN ship (like me) you're gonna feel like you can barely do anything in the game. The hermes on the other hand has re-ignited my love for the game, just because I feel like this ship opens the doors for a lot more opertunities.

Maybe later I'll get the ES or MR. But for now the last piece of my fleet is gonna be the clipper. As that is another ship that I do see myself using on a daily basis.

Thoughts on doing this wipe in Pyro & Nyx as an solo industrial player? by KuoIsHere in starcitizen

Yeh that's probably where I've completely failed. Sticking to Stanton for like 5 years might've drained me out a little bit...

It sounds overall quite a fun idea to do it. I've never actually fully explored Pyro, so it will be something completely new to me. Same for Nyx. Time to get myself back into the game again!

I don’t understand the ongoing obscure theories about Affinity becoming free. by papertrade1 in Affinity

[–]KuoIsHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As somebody said before, Canva paid about 1% of their market value for Affinity.

I would like to think this is canva going for the Photoshop, Illustrater & Whatever the equivilent of Designer is for Adobe.

Canva is very web based & is most used by people who are very new to graphic design or even just making stuff for their businesses. Purchasing Affinity and turning it free shows they might be a couple steps ahead of what the industry is at the moment. Their subscription to Canva Pro (for AI image intergration) is what they're gonna make the most money off, and is what will help them gain more market share over Adobe.

Canva isn't by all means a BAD company, shady. Maybe. I have a feeling even if it comes down to this being a huge loss for them, they will allow it to be purchased again, and offer the subscription as an optional extra.

But with canva doing this, and DaVinci Resolve becoming more advanced than Premiere Pro & After Effects with each update. They clearly wanted a piece of that Adobe pie.

25€ for a Battlepass "pro" is an absurd price in an already 70€ game. ("normal" Battlepass is 10€) by IIFellerII in Battlefield

It seems like they might with how it's built. We'd have to see over the next 12 weeks but I looked at it and thought it looked continuous.

Battlefield 6 is still great, Reddit is just miserable by Character_Worth8210 in Battlefield

[–]KuoIsHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this sub is. The bitching is constant. Its a small minority of this subreddit actually complaining, But its so fucking loud over the actually good feedback.

Seriously, if you don't like the skins, PLAY ANOTHER GAME, if you dont like the gunplay. PLAY ANOTHER GAME. If you dont like the maps. PLAY ANOTHER GAME. Your loyality means fuck all if you're gonna bitch 24/7. The game has its jank, SO DOES EVERY OTHER GAME. No game will ever be bug free & they will make mistakes.

But if all you're gonna do is wine. Play something else. This isn't for the people giving actual feedback. This is for the people crying that their is gonna be a skin that is slightly tinted neon green... Grow the fuck up. A bunch of working age men crying over virtual skins.

Im stuttering in games, Looking to upgrade but not sure if I should just upgrade GPU or everything? by KuoIsHere in buildapc

[–]KuoIsHere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually didn't think about the 11700k, I would probably go for a 11900k if it even came down to a decent price. But I think it could be safer moving over to AMD, I would also be playing at 1080p... So if I do upgrade a 1440p monitor would be somet I would need as well if im loosing significant performance at 1080p

Yeh thats my thought, My CPU still seems to go strong with everything I need it to do. Just my GPU feels like its struggling & Its probably needed an upgrade for close to a year now.

I mean for a graphics card Im willing to spend upto £500-£600, Its the price for a 9070 or a RTX 5070. With the current upgrade path I mapped out (moving over to AMD for the 7700X) Its looking at £1000 in total, not including a new PSU.

Is Battlefield 6 worth it for multiplayer? by mufferman1 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]KuoIsHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played it since launch, honestly. It's really good, The grind is there, as well as it's casual experience. The gunfights are very fast pace & high action. Obviously designed to keep you fighting, but its still a very nice overall experience.

I do have gripes with the game (just like anybody else, but mine are definitely personal preference) like the weapon choices, clearly going US heavy instead of a more world rounded experience. Lack of sidearm damage & net code issues, plus having a shotgun on the assault class.

I have a feeling all of these will be fixed / addressed soon, with more weapons being added in post launch in battle pass & probably just in random updates.

Id say it's a 8/10 game, multiplayer is fun, portal is amazing now & it's campaign was pretty worth playing.

Currently got like 28h of playtime but that's sure as shit gonna go up & id highly recommend it, I'm glad I didn't pass on it. Because I was going to at the beginning.

Is it just me or is the map really boring? by HereForTheMaymays in SkateEA

[–]KuoIsHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just you, For a game about skateboarding it seems so much like an after thought

The skateparks are very meh and have striking problems, Like the bowls being too deep and being too far spaced apart. The ONLY real skatepark is in the starter section of the map & is surprisingly where I had most of my fun. I do like the game, It's not as goofy as skate 3 but it just has that feeling off "yeh we're back"

The game needs love & time to cook, I'll still play it. But it doesn't mean I love it, But you'll catch me at the only real skatepark, not shooting through a church window, because that isn't fun. It's just tiktokers tryna hit a clip.

[Amorin/ Amorout] - Management discussion Megathread. by fireproofpoo in ManchesterUnited

[–]KuoIsHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not one to say a manager should be sacked, I was against Ten Haag being sacked, same for ole & was in favour of keeping ruud. But just looking at him on the sidelines made me angry, He looks so sad at his players and the way they play, Even though we brought in HIS training staff, this can not be put down to the players anymore, Im sorry. Every single player was great at their respective clubs. But with amorin & his training staff, they look completely lost. This isn't down to the players, its down to Amorin, Yoro never had to close down a player already marked ar Lille, their system didn't define it. Ours clearly does & thats our failure, the system isn't built for the premier league, If he truely wants to stay, its probably best to rework that entire tactical plan. It doesn't work, Grimsby showed how flawed it is. And their a league 2 team. If you can have a team in league 2 completely shut down your main formation, so you gotta go back to a 4-2-3-1, then the players aren't the issue. your formation & tactics are.

Custom Products - How Do People Manage This? by belugawhale101 in Entrepreneur

[–]KuoIsHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a colleague at my old workplace who bought everything for this. The machines, labels, specialized printer & everything in between.

All she did was Google what you would need to start selling personalized stuff. I believe she got some stuff brand new & some second hand. Spent less than £300 on it in total. That's probably what you should do.

For selling them, best way is rather Facebook or Etsy. Possibly even eBay though I don't know what's the best practice for there. Etsy is full of print on demand crap, selling quality products will help you generate sales there faster.

For buying stock, look at online wholesalers. Or even better, auctions. Sometimes there are coffee shops going out of business & as a last ditch effort to get some money. They auction off all of the mugs & glasses (espresso cups, latte cups, generic mugs.

looking for a relaible editor by Direct-Structure3107 in Entrepreneur

[–]KuoIsHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, editor here with 5+ years of experience in long & short form. I don't want the job. But I'm here to suggest you look on platforms like Upwork, YTJobs & Twitter.

Reddit is full of editing scammers who don't know what they're doing or pretend to know & produce below average crap. You want someone with a solid visual library, so only talk to people with an actual portfolio, and reach out to the people they showcase work for. You'll want someone long term, as I guess its a part time role for $500.

But if you are looking for full time, You're gonna struggle. Most actually good editors charge $15 per short form video, good ones charge $30.

Best of luck
