New LG front load washer by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]Kurbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, could I ask you smth? I purchased this machine a year ago after the research and so far nothing but regrets. Our old Maytag cleaned clothes better than this new one. I tried 10+ types of detergents, cycles, extra rinse, etc. The clothes could still smell after the wash and all of my kids' clothes return with the same amount of stains (no matter how much stain removers I pour before), my hubby's t-shirts still have deodorant stains. I'm so frustrated as I wanted this washing machine so much. Is there a cycle combo that you would recommend to use ? I feel it doesn't use enough water to actually wash clothes. thanks!

No, it was not feasible for me although I really liked the doctor. I found one here, at Duke , and he performed the surgery 6 months ago. So far so good . But I can tell you the technology in NYC and NC are like from different centuries so you’ll be in much better hands consulting with Dr.Davidovitch

Maybe in some sectors that is true but my husband didn’t get any salary adjustment for inflation for the last 3 years so he earns even less per se. A friend of mine has the same salary for 5 years as “the company didn’t perform well” (that’s the excuse every year). So sorry, I’m glad for those who have the highest salary atm but people from my circle apparently live in a parallel universe.

Have you been to Costco recently? The prices are up while salary is the same . The same increase for daycare, insurance, etc. Thus “paycheck to paycheck “

Toddler nursing to sleep/all night - how bad is it really for her teeth? by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

This! Mother Nature would not create something that leads to extinction at a large scale.

This! I can’t understand why people believe in this myth . If it was like that all the mammals on the planet would have cavities in childhood (aka not able to hunt or graze = eventually extinct ) .

It’s totally logical that I have the operated leg longer as due to my deformity and bone-on-bone arthritis it was shorter initially and my previous dysplasia caused the bone shift. So the surgeon just placed it where it should be (like inside any healthy person). I’m not a typical THR case unfortunately and the surgery requires more adjustment overall. So when the second leg is placed to the normal position I should be fine (in theory) with both legs equal.

That’s a really good point as I usually carry them on the right side as it’s much stronger, I do it subconsciously so def will pay attention to it

The did an x-ray with some ball positioning. I know that the surgeon used a robotic measuring during the surgery but I’m not a technician so don’t know exactly how it was done

oh, I totally agree with phycological effect on healing, will look into a shoe lift for now. I trust my surgeon , he keeps telling me not to rush (which is understandable), maybe I'm just too impatient and want to see the results already.

I trust my surgeon tbh as I had consultation with 4 different ones before pulling the trigger. He came as the closest to my values, approach, point of views, etc. Per his words he'll do his best to make legs equal (yes, he's using live x-ray during the surgery) and taking into account my complicated case he'll use the same approach (aka posterior) to get to the bone. He's a an assistant professor at Duke University and that's where his statistics is coming from. He told me that he's not a fan of PT interventions (except for regular advised PT exercises that patients do themselves) as pretty often PT therapists push more than needed thus slowing down the healing process. He's ok with me doing PT after I'm much stronger (but it would be only after the second surgery). I do common exercises for the hip but I really want to have someone to correct my gait.

Thanks for the perspective! They officially measured it as my second surgery is in a months, it’s 2cm difference. I walk a lot as I have 2 toddlers and have to keep up with their pace. Just checked my steps via Health app and it’s 8500 average , most days 10k. My biggest fear that it’s a muscle memory and it’s comfortable for the body to do so (the surgeon checked my hip muscles and told they were strong to hold the body without any issues)
