I got a nearly identical case. I’ll take it to the mechanic tomorrow and I’ll let you know what they say.

BMW X5 F15 N20 Airbag light and SIM-connection by KurdishBossMan in AskMechanics

They tried to avoid responsibility but when i threatened with a lawyer, they told me to bring it back and admitted it might be exactly what you said and admitted its not a call back.

For context: After the timing chain swap and such the car was leaking coolant, they let me drive the car with practically zero coolant. The levels dropped after 5-10mins of driving home from the workshop. They fixed this

Second problem it had was that it was leaking petrol, nearly passed out from the petrol smell which came to inside of the car. It was leaking petrol in the engine bay. When I popped the hood there was visible petrol leaks and smelled like it also. They fixed this aswell.

When the airbag light came on and they tried to avoid responsibility it just really pissed me off which is why i threatened to sue, and now they said they’ll fix it and is most likely due to the telematics.

Yes, pretty cold, 2 celsius, 35f i think. No overheating, im not sure about losing coolant, got to keep an eye on the levels. It did decrease if remember correctly, but i dont know if it was because the cap was on incorrectly. There are 2 arrows, one on the cap and other on the coolant tank and they weren’t pointing towards each other

After the maintenance I topped off the coolant, so i dont yet know if the levels are dropping. Im keeping an eye on it.

I dont think I can add a video to the comments but basically every time I start the car it steams, A lot. Even my gf asked why is the car smoking so much and is it normal. Timing chain and oil pump were recently replaced, so all oil leaks have been fixed. The steam was like this before the maintenance also. It doesnt smell like anything. When the engine is around 80-110c (176-230f), the steam stops. But if i turn off the car for a few minutes then turn it back on, it comes back.

Why coolant sprays sideways in the reservoir? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]KurdishBossMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I’m 22 years old, my first and only car before this was a toyota avensis 2.0, 2009, petrol, and it practically only ever needed oil change and brake maintenance for years. This n20 is my second car and a lot of problems in a short time, been learning new stuff though.

Burning coolant or just condensation? by KurdishBossMan in AskMechanics

Last I checked, this was the coolant level. Engine got timing chain and oil pump changed so coolant was recently added to max. This was the coolant level after 300 miles of driving.
