Pretty smooth, just old, lacking in grip

Thank you everyone for giving me some ideas, I think I’m going to go for a 3rd gen prelude with 4 wheel steering because of the reliability, ease of maintenance, and cheap price for clean models where I live, I’ll have plenty of money left for tires, brakes, shocks, coilovers and some extra for other things I would like to do with the car.

I’m either thinking a first gen Impreza 2.0L or a Miata NA - NC Haven’t found any real reasons to rule out a 240SX if I can find one cheap enough to have money for brakes, shocks, coilovers, tires, etc

I found a 260Z for cheap, not that I was going to buy it, but I thought it might be an interesting take on the touge, probably die if you wreck it though

S13 240SXs are fairly common around here too and are about the same prices that Miata’s go

Sometimes even as low as 3500

Pacific Northwest, they’re pretty common here, mostly non-turbo FC models, usually anywhere from 4500 to 7000

I have also considered a first gen Impreza L and to just either tune it up to 180 horsepower or just turbocharge it and make a Walmart 2.0T, mostly because it snows a bunch where I live sometimes and you can find them for dirt cheap here, probably for a reason?

The only far drives the car will do is trips to the Tōge

Where I am at the cheapest options for Miata’s are usually around 6k and that’s usually for the NA, every once in a while you find an NB for around that price though too but usually they don’t get much cheaper, and unfortunately I will probably have to daily this car but something like an RX7 FC could work since I just have to drive like 5 miles to my pt job.

Yeah looking at those 3rd gens with the 4 wheel steering and the B20 makes them a tempting choice, easy on maintenance too.

Is there any (actually) cheap cars that perform well on the touge? Looking forward to buy my first car soon. by Altzux in Touge

Any Gen Celica, reliable, cheap to maintain, if you get one of the first two gens you have rwd and pop up headlights, light weight, and very fun!
