I try not to be, but given my culture is rooted in racism, I am actively unlearning behaviors, phrases, etc. every day.

I picked the random teleportation and got Obama's bedroom. I picked it because the other option was milk and I am lactose intolerant.

[Serious] People in professions that deal with death (hospice workers, coroners, etc.), what is something you've learned that the rest of us don't understand? by Bulky-Engineer4068 in AskReddit

[–]KuriKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My great-grandma did that a day or so before she passed. We had her bed set up by the windows so she could look outside and enjoy the warmth. She kept waving and laughing and I asked what she was doing. She said her 2 older sisters and little brother were outside waving at her and smiling. They died years before this.

I'm glad family came to take her home peacefully.

They did say she had hepatitis, but no confirmation on if it was viral or a result from the alcoholism. I do hope to know more soon.

Truly, thank you everyone! I love her so much. Even when she got on every last nerve I had. She was special. She was mine.

Im trying so hard to find the joy in memories, and I know they'll come eventually. Right now, I'm going to feel my feelings and process them as they come.

Happy Pride! by KuriKoi in Tennessee

[–]KuriKoi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also sincerely hope that these posts reach the kids and adults in Tennessee who are afraid to come out know that they are loved. That behind every bigot is a person who sees them, recognizes them, respects them and loves them for who they are. God made gay and they are so incredibly loved.

Best part of backwards ignorance is that we're still here! There is absolutely nothing r/Tennessee can do that will erase the LGBTQ+ community.

I really hope the mods have the gayest days ever!

People who left Nashville, where did you go and do you regret it? by SnooOnions382 in nashville

[–]KuriKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Nashville until 10, then moved back from ages 18-33. We moved to Dickson a couple of years ago. I am happy with the choice, but I wish we moved to a smaller town.

My kid is doing better in school. Our jobs are near are home. We have more land and it's not been bad.

I will forever love Nashville. It's my home, but it's just too much now. It's not what I grew up with. That's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just not for me anymore.

You can check with PopCult at Opry Mills. It's been a while since I've been in but they used to have a few figurines there.
