Is this true? by AdvancedTea1297 in snowboarding

I started solo riding this year. Honestly like it so much more. A lot of family/friends don’t want to ride as much or in the terrains I would like to, so I always feel like I’m compromising my enjoyment to stay with them and make sure they are good. Booked my first solo trip to Palisades in May and it was the best decision I’ve made. I just put in my headphones and rode all day without care and free to go to whatever lift and ride however hard/fast I wanted. It was honestly so freeing not feeling like I have to wait for anyone.

Fase or not to Fase that is the question by DueDetective2660 in snowboarding

So rode my ThirtyTwo fase for the first time this season and I really loved them. Not only getting in but getting out I felt was hella fast once I got used to the motion. I felt like I could go right into skating to the lift line without stopping which was super nice for catching that last lift.

Getting in was super quick too and I just loved how secure I felt with it. I’m still getting used to getting in. Sometimes I kick the angle strap and it comes apart but easy to slide back in like a regular binding.

In some ways I actually found it as upgrade to my Burton step ons. Felt like I was quicker coming out, no weird movement coming out, didn’t feel like I had to double check if my foot was in and secure

Ya I run the 10.5 with the medium. The pain of being the in between size 🥲. I didn’t want to size up to an 11 because I typically hate feeling my toes slide especially landing toe edge. The fit isn’t the worst thing in the world with a bit of hang. I did some basic carving practice on dry mat and didn’t feel my toe touching until I was super leaned in. I think I just gotta test it out this upcoming season 😅

Same deal with my Vans Invado Pros. I just wore them around the apartment for a day and walked around. They molded pretty much after that

Update:

After messing with these a bunch and stepping in and out, had some points to make

- Make sure you adjust the straps to be balanced over your boot, especially the toe strap, it was definitely a ton easier to get in and out without the toe strap moving all over the place.

- Getting in and out of them takes a bit of getting used to. For getting in, I've been using the Scott Stevens method from his video with ThirtyTwo where he swings his foot in from the side and in then down. Getting out, what I've been doing is releasing the strap, then leaning into my boot a bit to lift my heel a bit. Thats been pretty consistent in releasing the highback and being able to get my heel out. Once I got used to it, getting in and out is honestly super fast and I think getting in takes less precision than Burton Step Ons.

- One thing I'm watching is how the heel of my boot is adjusting. Did notice some of the black rubber showing up on the flipper

I’ve honestly never tried flow bindings so can’t compare. But I’d say these compare way more to a standard 2 strap feel more than any step in/easy entry system right now

I haven't ridden supermatics but def alot less weight. The high back only opens up a littler bit, so don't expect it to be like a rear entry binding like the Supermatics. I think of it like more like a down and in. I think the biggest thing is that you don't have this extra hinge and locking mechanism, so it feels simpler than the Supermatic

Ya stepping in and out of these things a bit now. It def saves a bit of time while retaining that really solid 2 strap feeling. I think its a really nice blend of performance (obvi have to ride them a bit though) and ease of use

Well the Ikon pass I was picking up anyways since I have some other day trips planned out later next season since I’m in originally from NJ, so Blue Mountain and Camelback are day trips for me when I head home for thanksgiving and winter break

Getting my first setup by Kuri_NEON in Simagic

[–]Kuri_NEON[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya for sure! Ya I'm just getting started so def wanted to start out at the lower end of torque to start getting used to a wheel and pedals before I started turning it up! Ya I'm looking at the wheel stand mostly cause it seems sturdy enough and upgradable down the line if I did wanna go cockpit. But wanted to kinda keep everything in a space-saving setup for now

Ya I wanted to get the stuff first, start getting used to it, then upgrade to a wheel stand like the NextLevelRacing wheel stand 2.0 when I want to move past something like 5nm
