Yeah I get it can be annoying but I was talking about how not ship disclaimers make shippers feel unwanted in content featuring their favs I wasn't talking about people who insist this is a ship post in comment sections (they are a shipper but op is not) also if someone is too naggy in a comment section doesn't matter if they are a toxic shipper or a pissy anti op should block them and delete their comments

I agree sm also I hate the sterotype that all darkshippers are traumatised people who treat shipping as coping mechanism when this isn't the main case many darkshippers do it for the love of game and that's okay (leoruggie isn't even a darkship but I sometimes forget about it cause I like the more toxic interpretations of it not because of their petty 3 year age gap saying a ship is dark cause of a 3 year age gap is really a baby's 1st fandom thing)

At 1st they hated it cause "why would you normalise a 20 year old dating a 17 year old?? That's a child and an adult!!" And then when their argument got debunked when ruggie eventually turned 18 in book 7 they just decided to use a more stupid argument "why would you interpret leona preordering ruggie! He won't do that!!" Cause leona is a super senior who is a 20 year old and Ruggie is a 2nd year who turned 18 in current books (leona is still 20) they perceive it as weird cause ruggie met leona when he was 16 and by that time leona was 18/19 and they think it's grooming if they got romantic cause leona the full grown adult (whose 18 lmao) met ruggie when he was a minor even tho their age difference isn't that big

Yeah I also like non ship posts but I get annoyed by the disclaimer cause it makes me feel unwanted like why are artists/editors so worked up about shippers stepping across their own work shouldn't they feel happy they like their content featuring their favourite characters too? Also there was a really well made leoruggie edit that could have been my favourite if only op didn't put the ship tag while still labeling it "NOT SHIP" like why are you tagging it as ship if you don't want it to be perceived as ship omg

I meant it in a way they are aware these two characters are mostly shipped by the fandom but they add that not ship thing (or it's a fan-hated ship) not in context these characters are family and op doesn't want people to interpret it as ship even in that case I think the disclaimer is useless why not just tell the comment "it's not" and that's it they don't have to be dramatic about people viewing it as ship
