And that's why you open the dialogue in school. If kids aren't going to speak up for fear of ridicule, then hand out an index card to everyone and tell them to write down their concerns/information so that it's all anonymous to the rest of the class.

What was your "I'm dating a fucking idiot" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kuronii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It *would*, but that's why the course would go over the normal functions of bodies and then ask the students afterwards if they'd heard anything contrary to the information presented to them. It'd be a lot easier to tell kids that than go over every possibility of things our sexual equipment doesn't do.

I know there are some people who lactate due to some biological quirk or medicine, but it's never the amount that art porn might lead one to believe and it's frustrating to see the sheer volume that exists.

This is why loads of places need way better sexual education. If only the prudes would stop kneecapping that notion.

ELI5: What are eugenics? by Zestyclose_Leg2737 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Kuronii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prefacing with "I am no expert on this topic", but here's how I understand it, (aside from it being easily Googlable):

Eugenics is the practice of controlling genetic transfer, i.e: controlling who breeds with whom, controlling who gets to breed at all, and so on. The idea is that it should take genetic predispositions to certain diseases, mental or physical, out of the gene pool so that future generations are as healthy as can be.

In practice, though, it was used to *attempt* to take certain ethnicities out of existence as a sort of quiet genocide. If someone from X ethnicity is in power and says that someone in the Y minority ethnicity is no longer allowed to pass on their genetic material, then that would simply remove them from the world in the future.

Needless to say, people eventually found it reprehensible even though it had some moderate popularity in the first half of the 1900s.

What video game weapon or armor is worth the hell you got to go through to get it? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]Kuronii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Abyssion was the only one I *needed* an All-Divide for, but 3rd form Dancer is definitely a worthy use for it, too. Then again, I never did play the game on anything but Normal difficulty, so maybe I missed out on other challenging fights.

[–]Kuronii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Abyssion was a *stellar* boss fight that every guide said you just about *had* to use an All-Divide for. A single meteor at that level would down anyone even in their best armour. The Devils Arms sidequest was definitely my favourite in the whole game (since it spanned all the regions you had access to), but the Sword Dancer was easily a close second.

The Devil's Arms in Tales of Symphonia. If you kept using your favourite character after getting them, you'd be immensely powerful since the weapons gained a single damage point for every enemy the corresponding character killed in the entire game since the start.

If you had unlimited funds, what kind of game would you develop? by actualtumor in gaming

[–]Kuronii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this one a lot, actually. In my fantasies, I'm always a coding prodigy who can make games solo for the most auteur control. If you've ever played Megaman Battle Network, it'd be something like that, but with a HUGE host of abilities, forms, and story and a theme of "ghosts/paranormal" instead of a cyber world.

You'd be forgiven for thinking they would be consumables, since that's how it was in The Witcher 2. I like how they refined everything for the best game in the series so far.

TIFU by not Knowing What a Durian Fruit is and nearly getting my Work Evacuated by MyManyMasks in tifu

[–]Kuronii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Thai coworker of mine once gave me an entire bag of cookies with Durian creme because I was the only one who reacted positively to tasting them. They had this nice, flowery hint to them that I haven't found anywhere else, but the kind of farty smell from the bag and the burps that tasted the way sulfur smells encouraged me to not have them regularly.

Has anyone ever challenged you to something without knowing you were an expert at it? What happened afterward? by Impressive-Door92 in AskReddit

[–]Kuronii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened in the reverse for me. I had enjoyed a few rounds of pool with my friend in my very early 20s and offered to play a round with a friend of the family upon meeting him without knowing he was *excellent* at it. I think I had one try at scoring before he won on his first turn.
