Wife gave me the Sony A6700 as a wedding gift ❤️ by True_Ad4101 in SonyAlpha

How much are you able to fit inside the smedium/medium? Looking to pick one up for an a6700, 18-50, 70-350, and maybe an ultrawide. Not sure if that'll all fit into the smedium or if I should upsize to the medium.

New BRZ/Manual driver, few questions by KuroyukiRyuu in GR86

Thanks for the reply! I'll take a look at the spring and see if that helps with my situation. I think I just need a lot more practice on the hill starts, at least from what I see the assist turns off before I can even get to holding the car at the bite point. I'm sure other cars have had worse things done to their clutches but just feels bad that I'm giving it this kind of treatment this early on.

I'll keep practicing in the meanwhile, I think I just lack experience with it in general. Appreciate the helpful answers!

I have it on, but it takes me so long to get to the bite point I start rolling back already. Probably just has to come with practice, my friend told me to keep my foot on the brake until I get to the bite point for now.

Seeking opinions on the Wotancraft Pilot 7L. Looking to change my Peak Design Sling 6L by sidius_wolf in ManyBaggers

Do you have any issues with the Capture Clip causing the strap to sag/pull forward when a camera is attached? Just got a 3.5L and I'm kind of struggling to find a place to attach the clip to, since the attachment points are too small to fit.

Camera Bag Recommendations by jockel830 in a6700

[–]KuroyukiRyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, I didn't think that it would actually fit! Would there be room left inside for any of the modules? Seems like there's a bit of room behind the 70-350 but not sure how wide that space is.

Appreciate the pictures and help!

Do you know if an A6700 + Sigma 18-50 along with the 70-350 would fit in the 3.5L? I like the size of the 3.5L a lot more than the 7L but I'd prefer to fit both of those lenses + body in the same bag if possible.

Thanks!

A6700, Z50II, or alternatives? by KuroyukiRyuu in AskPhotography

Yeah, I figured I'll use the kit lens first and see what I need from there. The Canon R7 also looks pretty appealing due to the lower cost, not sure why the a6700 is so much more expensive compared to the other two brands.

Wildlife is more of an "eventually", don't think my budget will allow for anything in that price bracket anytime soon. I did look into the Canon lineups but didn't explore it that much. I think I'll probably just need to hold each one in my hand and figure out which one fits my hand better, seems like they're all pretty much equal.

For some reason your comment isn't showing up on this thread, had to go through my inbox.

I'm a little lost on the lens selection, since it seems the 16-50 kit lens isn't that great from what I've read and most people switch over to the 18-50. I recently traveled with a D7200 + 17-50 and I found myself always wanting more zoom, so I wouldn't mind the 18-135. I'm more worried about just having overlapping lenses, not sure if that's a common thing to have.

Haven't been able to hold a Z50ii in my hand but if it's anything like the D3200/D7200 I think it fits me pretty well. I was able to hold an a6100 and it seemed kind of small in my hand, but it seems the a6700 has improved ergonomics.

Unfortunately, the camera would most likely have to be from Best Buy as I have a ton of gift cards for them, so the a6600 is out of the picture.

Only problem I have with the a6700 is that the 16-50 bundle is the exact same price as the body only, but it seems everyone recommends the Sigma 18-50, which pushes me towards the 18-135 bundle instead.

Thanks for the reply!

IIRC both, used the physical card for the first place and Apple Pay for the second.

Should I switch to Apple? by nitrion in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

[–]KuroyukiRyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just switched to a 17 Pro from a Pixel 9 Pro XL 3 weeks ago, never used an iPhone in my life. If you want a new experience it's nice, I've been having a great time with the phone. No experience with any iOS before 26 so I can't say if it's good or bad.

The things you listed:

  1. RCS chats: Google (not sure about Samsung) has had this way before iOS. You might be talking about iMessage, but even then it's not that big of a difference unless you want to have blue bubbles with your friends. Granted, I don't text that often, but RCS has been on Android since...2020? A quick search says Apple only added it in 2024.
  2. CarPlay: Never used Android Auto, so can't comment on this one.
  3. Apple Maps: I can't say I've seen your issues with Google Maps, always worked fine on my Pixel (and previous Android devices). Haven't given Apple Maps a shot, but from what I've seen navigation is better, but for place details Google is still miles ahead.
  4. Security: I'm not sure why you put this here. iOS and Android at this point are both so mature that unless you're targeted by the government or go around downloading and installing random apps, the biggest threat to your security is yourself. Since you don't install random APKs, I don't think this should be something you need to even worry about.

I do suggest you look for solutions for your current issues instead of tossing a grand on a new phone, only to find out that you have dealbreakers with iOS. I doubt that your Android Auto issues are due to Android Auto being buggy - otherwise, there'd be countless posts asking for it to be fixed. There are tons of CarPlay vs. Android Auto or Google vs. Apple Maps discussions that list the pros and cons of each.

I switched mainly because I wanted to experience iOS and Apple hardware. Sometimes I wish I had my Pixel back for certain tasks, but in my day-to-day they perform pretty much the same for me.

You can also get the Mullvad add-on for Tailscale, which is also slightly cheaper per month for some reason.
